I can’t help but sometimes draw scenes that will happen when the story is quite advanced. And then I don’t know if I should share them or what 😣
Some thoughts:
................ Planning a story
Aside the story, I’ve always loved imagining stories but never feel as invested on the characters as in [Muraka Project]. I’m still developing some stuff, but I’m quite surprised that I have quite clear most of the things that are going to happen, the scheme and such, the end and the timing. Maybe this is weird, but in my career, the fact that I spent the whole degree working on team and individual projects where everything had to be planned and really organized, had helped me with this. (I used to be that “start it and see what happens later” methodical person hehe).
.................. Strong Frienship
Sometimes I like watching series and animes that are supposed to be for children, since I’m a bit tired of the series that are focused on developing the main characters in a romantic way. I like romance, really, but for some reason I’ve always enjoyed more how strong friendships have been developed (like Gon and Killua in HunterxHunter or Midoriya and Todoroki in Boku no hero). I used to think that I shipped them as partners, but now that I see it, not at all. I just loved the fact that two people can give everything for a person that is not their lover. It’s something that touches my heart so much, and that’s why Seban and Ronald are this kind of friends. They are super close to each other and protective (spoiler again: to the point that even one day, Ronald was wondering if he felt something for his best friend, but ahhaha no :3), and the same with Vicky and Seban (I should have show her more often! She is based on a really close person that have had a difficult life).
.................. And about the scene
This is a scene of the third book. In each one of the books there is a moment that, after a peaceful moment, everything starts to go terribly bad again. And this is one of those moments. Not just Seban has problems, but something terrible affects Mura and Trece.
Again to the scene, Seban’s body is suffering a natural reaction to a huge amount of magic. The magic of this world can flow through the living beings. Depending on their nature, the living beings can keep it for a limit of time, or if they are dragons, they can keep and flow it in their body without any kind of limit. Jinetes (the magicians) thank to their link with their dragons, can do it for a really long period of time (but not infinite) and humans, animals and plants can just keep it for some time before the magic starts burning and destroying their bodies. The effect is like having internal bleeding.
So yes, is quite problematic 🥺 the reason why Seban has magic here is a HUGE spoiler tho 😂
.................. About creating stories
I’m completely following my heart when designing these scenes, I know it can be too exaggerated or dramatic but since this is a story for me initially, as a personal project, I’m stopping caring about how other readers could think, (at least in the version I want to keep for my own, of course if this story one day is read I would love to hear feedback). I’ve known a lot of creators on Instagram and a lot of people start to feel demotivated if people don’t show interest in their characters or stories, and unfortunately, it’s something common...
So if you are creating a story and have your own characters, write first for YOU, you can always edit it later if you want to publish it. You can love books, films, series, and even wishing “a character doing this or that”, probably you won’t see it as a canon, since you are not the brain behind the script. BUT you are the brain in your own creation, and you can simply make things happen. So enjoy the process and love to death your story and characters, play with their feelings, play with their experiences, just live through them. Honestly, is magic and I love that, and if you feel that with your story, you shouldn’t worry very much about people being interested or not into it. It can be really encouraging to have people reading and being invested in it, but it can be really discouraging if you don’t get that too, and it shouldn’t affect your motivation to continue creating!
But it’s just my opinion, of course!
Any thoughts about it sweeties? Are you creating a story? What it is about?
