LUMINOVA (🆕1.7 UPDATE!)

UPDATE [July 25th 2025] : The Luminova 1.7 Update is now available! This small update introduces all sizes and heights for the smart curtains and shutters, a few bug fixes, and minor improvements! Read the full changelog and download the update at the bottom of this post!

I also added an UNMERGED version for those who prefer it. Use only one: either the .package file or the unzipped unmerged folder. And don’t forget to remove older versions from your Mods folder. Enjoy!!! :)

Hey friends,

Today is THE day! I'm releasing my brand new Luminova mod kit for all, after the early access for Patreon members! Thank you for your support, and enjoy this new pack! The download file is attached at the bottom of this post.

What's Luminova?

Luminova is a new fictional brand I created that features 17 new smart items! This brand may expand in the future with additional smart devices, so if you have ideas or requests, let me know! 😊

Smart Blinds/Shutters

I’ve had this idea for years, and it’s finally here! I created functional and animated Smart Blinds/Shutters that protect your home from prying eyes while adding a touch of modernity.

Fabric Smart Blinds:

• Available in two sizes (1x and 2x for Small Wall Height) + 2x Medium Wall Height

• Can be opened or closed manually or controlled via the Luminova Smart Home App to manage them all at once!

• Blocks light and prevents passersby from peeking inside!

Wall-Integrated Smart Shutters:

• Sleeker and more discreet, compatible with all windows up to 2x wide and Small Wall Height (even rounded windows!) + 2x Medium Wall Height

• Perfect for fully darkening a room for better sleep or privacy.

Privacy Screen Smart Blinds:

Similar to Wall-Integrated Shutters but designed to blur the view without blocking light, ideal for bathrooms or toilets.

All blinds and shutters have a smart schedule, closing automatically at 10 PM after sunset and opening at 6 AM at sunrise. They can also all be remotely controlled through the Smart Home Panel / Smart Hub (see below!)

Air Purifier

The new Smart Air Purifier is a must-have for your Sims’ home and well-being. It automatically turns on twice a day, removing dust and particles from the air. It features:

• A sleek design: with an animated fan in the middle, lights, and beautiful swatches!

• Bust the Dust Compatibility: Prevents dust from accumulating in your home if you own the kit, making it sparkle clean!

• Provides a happy moodlet for a clean and peaceful home, and sims will react to the nice fresh air smell!

In a future update, I’d like to make them compatible as well with the mold feature from For Rent EP (I haven’t got it yet!) and the sickness system from Get to Work EP, to help your home and sims stay healthy with clean air! The Smart Air Purifiers can also be controlled remotely through the Smart Home Pannel / Smart Hub.

Smart Thermostat

A new futuristic Smart Thermostat (requires Seasons EP) lets you control heating and cooling remotely. It also features colour-changing light effects to match the temperature and a full integration with the Smart Home Panel / Smart Hub to be controlled remotely!

Smart Home Pannel and Smart Hub

These two devices offer the same features in different form factors. One looks like a tablet that can be hung on the wall, while the other is more like a speaker with a screen that sits on a counter or table. They are both powered by PlumfruitOS (there’s a strong relationship between Luminova and Plumfruit in the Arnie Cinematic Universe!).

With these powerful smart devices, you can control almost everything in your home:

• 💡 Smart Lights: Control the lights and colours in your room and home.

• 🪟 Smart Blinds: Control the smart blinds/shutters and open or close them all remotely.

• 🌬️ Air Quality: Turn on and off all the air purifiers around your house to keep the air clean and fresh anytime!

• 🌡️ Temperature: Control all the Smart Thermostats in your home directly from the smart hubs.

• 🤖 Neo: A new smart assistant responds to your questions, gives you news briefs, and calls for repair automatically when something breaks in your home! (It overrides the Linzy assistant on the base game smart speaker!)

• 🎵 Music: Play music directly from the smart hubs with the best sound quality, and control the sound volume.

• 📞 Order Services: Services are just a phone call away, whether it’s for pizza delivery or a gardener!

• 📑 Utilities and Services: Access bills, utilities information, neighborhood action plans, and story progression news directly from the smart hubs.

• 🛠️ Cheats: Tired of looking for the mailbox to shift+click and reveal cheats? Use any of the smart hubs in your home to perform cheats! It’s cross-compatible with my CheatsMaster Mod!

Bonus: a smaller version of the Smart Home Pannel is available, it’s called the Luminova Smart Switch, and can be put in any room with a more discreet look.

Smart Fridge

Smart Fridge Features!

The Luminova Smart Fridge now features a brand new redesigned menu, with interactions neatly sorted and categorized, making it easier to find what you need. The overhauled categories include improvements such as all cooking interactions being reorganized into a new main category, along with several other enhancements. I even added a Drinks menu, which is not in the base game. 😊

It features a futuristic transparent screen, and also has gradient lights inside for a sleek look. It also allows you to control the Luminova smart home devices right from your fridge, useful while you’re cooking something!

Smart Clocks

There are two Luminova smart clocks available in this pack, and they are both functional! One is a bedside smart clock; it looks like a mini smart hub with an animated screen. And you can set up alarms for any time of day! (This feature requires the latest Sims 4 patch update since I’m using the code from the upcoming alarm clock from the 25th anniversary event.)

The other smart clock has the same features but is hung on a wall, and has a beautiful gradient projected light surrounding it, making it look like it’s coming from the future.

Smart TV + Backlight

The new Luminova Smart TV is the ultimate television for your Sims! It controls smart devices in your home while offering a super cool design. Powered by PlumfruitOS, it includes 13 stunning wallpapers to choose from, with views from around the world, as well as Apps like Simflix, PlumTV+, and Simsey+. You can also opt for a blackscreen as wallpaper if you prefer a minimalist look.

(Wallpaper/screensaver must be changed in Build/Buy mode)

New SmartTV Features! (1.5 Update)

The Luminova SmartTV now features a brand new redesigned menu, with the game's channels and movies sorted and categorized in new SmartTV Apps! Your sims now can watch the kids network on Simsey+, a mysterious movie on Simflix, and all your favourite channels on PlumTV+ for example! There's also a new Fitness+ app for your workouts!

The Simsey+ App features movies, shows, and channels that you could find on its real-life equivalent! 🐭🏰✨

The Smart TV also gets a bonus: the animated backlight, which is independent from the screen and compatible with all other TVs in-game. Simply use the “bb.moveobjects on” cheat to place it behind your TV and create a stunning visual effect! It also comes in a variety of swatches with different light colours to match your style.

CheatsMaster Cross Compatibility

If you have my CheatsMaster mod installed, it's cross compatible with Luminova! The Smart Home Pannel, Smart Hub, and Smart Switch all have cheat commands from the mailbox!

Important Info

Base Game and Packs:

• Luminova is base game compatible! However, the Smart Thermostat and its features requires the Seasons Expansion Pack, and the Air Purifier has a bonus feature for those who have the Bust the Dust kit, because it will prevent dust from appearing in your home. If you don't own these two packs, don't worry!! Luminova is still fully compatible, and thes items/features will just not appear in-game, that's all!

Languages:

• For now, Luminova been auto-translated to all officially supported Sims 4 languages. I know it's not perfect, but at least players can enjoy the mod in their language for now. So if you have a better translation or fixes to submit for your language, and you know how strings/package files work, you can send it to me via private message here, I'll include it in the next update (and credit you of course!) [April 17th update: someone sent me a better translation for their language (I think it was polish) and I can't find it anymore! Can this person please send me a DM or comment, so sorry about that!]

Smart Speaker Override:

• Luminova overrides the base game Lyn-Z Smart Speaker's code, with revamped pie menu categories, icons, and the new Neo smart assistant questions! This will conflict with any other mod overriding the base game smart speaker. Be careful!

How to Install

• Download the file attached to this post down below: "Arnie_Luminova_1.6.package"

• Put it in your Mods folder (and make sure you enable mods in the game's settings) and don't forget to remove any previous version from your mods folder too!

• Enjoy :) You can find the items by searching for "Luminova" or "Arnie" in the build/buy searchbar.

Luminova 1.7 is now available to downbload! This new small update brings all sizes and heights to smart curtains and shutters, bug fixes, and other improvements! Here's the changelog down below!

[JULY 2025] 1 .7 Update - Full Changelog:

• 🪟New Smart Curtains for all sizes and heights: Small, medium, and Tall Wall Heights, 1x and 2x wide, fabric curtains and blackout shutters! (This comes with a minor inconvenience: the animation when you open/close a curtain/shutter of Medium and Tall sizes isn't perfect, but it works!!)

• 🏷️ Renamed all the smart curtains and interactions to "Curtains" and "Shutters" for consistency, and adding their height and width in the catalogue name too!

• 🖼️ Udpated thumbnails for all smart curtains & shutters with the width visible and a new wall height icon (S, M, and L)

• 🕺 Fixed a bug that would make your sim dance when chatting with Neo, the virtual assistant!

[February 2025] 1 .5 Update - Full Changelog:

• 📺 New SmartTV Menu – The interactions have now been overhauled and sorted into new categories and apps: Fitness+, Simflix, Simsey+, PlumTV+, and Television.

• 🖼️ 3 New SmartTV Wallpapers/Screensavers – Simflix, Simsey+, and PlumTV+, and the main homescreen wallpaper (starry sky) has been redesigned.

• 🧊 New Smart Fridge Menu – The interactions have now been overhauled and sorted into new categories too! I also added a new Drinks menu.

• 🐾 Fixed a bug that would make pets stretch around Air Purifiers – If this bug happened to you, please wait a few in-game hours for this to be effective. The issue was coming from a moodlet on your pets, which is going to fade away!

• 🏡 Added two new Smart Blinds/Shutters for the Medium Wall Height – (2x Fabric + 2x Shutter).

• ⏰ Added new icons for the Smart Clock time-of-day menu.

• 🌍 Improved Spanish translation – (Thank you RoshySims!!).

• 💡 Added an option to turn ON/OFF the smart devices’ light, to deactivate the purple glow around the objects!
