MY BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear all,

Today is the day I announce that I leave the Sims Modding Community.

I am now working on my own games with my newly founded digital arts studio: Arnie’s Workshop.

Please watch this video to understand how I came to this decision, and what the journey is going to look like from now on.

First I would like to thank you all for your support during all this time, this adventure has already changed my life profoundly and it’s about to get wild from now on, I can’t thank you enough for that!

I would also like to thank all the people around that made this possible: YouTube Creators and Streamers who played and shared my work around the whole freaking planet (!!!), supporters and followers on various social media platforms, other talented Mod and CC Creators from the community that sometimes helped me when I needed it, discord moderatos and especially NoEsha who helped me so much managing the Discord server, The Sims Franchise and Dev Team for their work, Electronic Arts for bringing such a wonderful franchise into our lives, my roommate Kentin who helped me shoot this video, one of my best friends Ali who’s helping me with Patreon and Twitter community management, all my friends and family who supported my decisions and life choices, the media that shared my work (GamesRadar+, Gamestar, TheSimsCommunity, and more), the Patreon platform which is helping creators including myself to show and share their creations worldwide, and every other person involved in this adventure, there are so many more… THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.

My Upcoming Projects

You saw it, I’m now working on my own games! As told in the video, I won’t be announcing a specific project as of now! I’m giving myself some time to learn, and I’ll wait until I get to a point in a game project when I feel like it’s the right time to announce it. All the example projects in the video are potential projects that are not confirmed for release (any time soon).

I will also be working on projects related to other Arts and domains such as:

• Music: I love playing music and singing, and wrote a few songs that I would like to record in a Studio sometime this year.
• Video: Before I became a game developer, I was actually working in the film industry, and especially as a commercial/entertainment director for a production company in Mauritius. I still work sometimes on film/video sets and would love in the future take some time to shoot short films and music videos again!
• Ecology: One thing I’d like to do the most whilst creating games is fighting for the environment. Our island (Mauritius) is facing a considerable ocean level rise, that I’ve seen with my own bare eyes just in the last 5 years. I would like to incorporate some ecological actions into my work, and already have several ideas for that (creating a group with some friends to clean the beaches of our country, funding phytoplancton culture projects for carbon capture, animal care, and more).
• Other Projects: Who knows what else? I love all forms of Art and will be exploring the things that make me want to take a further look… (I’m really interested in VR and AR, painting/drawing, AI & new technologies, and more!)

What will happen over here, on Patreon?

• I will be releasing my last mod here, during the month of June
• I will be releasing a one last update for a few mods (Plumfruit for example)
• I will eventually drop support for my mods, unfortunately… As told in the video, having my work broken by the many patch updates of the game is very frustrating, and I don’t want to be remaking again and again the things I’ve already created. Brookheights for example was almost completely broken by the official patch updates just 6 months after its release, and remaking it from scratch would have taken me several months, just for it to be broken again weeks later I guess… This is one of the reasons that led me to consider first creating smaller mod packs, and second creating my own games: creative freedom, technical control!
• The tiers related to mods and custom content have been hidden for the new ones to show up! Don’t worry, you will stay on the same tier even if it’s not visible on the main page, only new/future patrons are affected by this change. In a few months, the older tiers will be renamed, but that’s not for now, I will let you know of course!
• For now, there shouldn’t be any more early access downloads on this Patreon Page. I am now focusing on all the projects explained up above and it should take (a lot of) time for me to release something as early access over here. So if you choose to stay, thank you again (and again, and again!!) because it shows unconditional support towards my work and videos, that’s incredible… YOU ROCK!
• And finally, please only join my Patreon Page if you are in a situation that allows you to do so, I don’t want to be a source of troubles in your finances, and fully understand if you can’t or don’t want to stay when there are no downloads available for some time. I love you all and want the best for you ❤️

The Future

• Changes on Social Media: There will be some changes around here and on all my social media and website in the upcoming weeks/months. I will create a new branding and will probably change my @ here and there (to update it to Arnie’s Workshop). I’m also thinking of a new full (nick)name, Arnie Plus was related to my former name (The Sims Plus) and I’d love to find something more personal. I was thinking Arnie Moore would be a good sur(nick)name since it’s similar to « more » which is the equivalent of « plus ». What do you think? Is Arnie Moore a name I could hold easily?
• Already working on a video: I’ve started to work already on a YouTube video where I try to re-create a famous video game in Unity! I don’t know if it will make the cut or even when I might finish it, but I love this idea so much! Just throwing that out there, stay tuned!
