New Show Alert - Siren

Hollywood has finally tired of vampires and werewolves and are now on the next frontier - mermaids! When I saw the promo for this show last year I wasn't sure what to make of it, but the most recent trailers have whetted my appetite. I love the idea of this show in that it goes to the original lore of the maidens of the sea; they weren't cute, shell-wearing divas that dreamed of life on land. They were actually quite inhospitable and oft deadly.
The underwater shots and visuals I've seen in the promos have looked great, and if the show plays it's budget right, we could be in for a real visual treat. I don't have much expectations with Freeform, but I'm hoping to be surprised by a decent plot and somewhat interesting characters.
The cast seems a bit diverse (especially for Freeform) and I especially like that the lead actress (Eline Powell) has a naturally ethereal look about her that lends itself to her mystical counterpart.
Overall, I'm excited about a new fantasy show to watch with a different premise. Anyone else excited to go Unda Da Sea (sorry, I had to!)??
