You cannot like ascendancy of a bookworm and dislike Apothecary Diaries because on the top level one is reinterpretation of another and on top level they are the same show. It is easier to enumerate differences than say what is in common. A quirky girl is embedded into a high court setting, oblivious of romance and going out of her way crafting stuff. There is a total dufus romantic interest, who is running the part of the kingdom she is in and obviously a heir to the throne, and who is unreachable not only for her but for anyone because he is incel of highest order. Shenanigans ensue. Perhaps the biggest difference between two protagonists is that one is social and uses a team, while another is a lone wolf type.
