Lounge singer - Thoughts and process

This post is to share some thoguhts and steps while i was doing this work.

This is something i should do more often and im not sure if people would find it usefull but i think its a fun way to have something different from time to time than just showing finished pieces.

When doing an artwork, I usually try to do 3 or more quick poses to decide later where i want to go with the idea( (in case of being a commission or a paid artwork it lets the client to have some variety to choose if he doesnt have a clear concept regarding to character pose wich i think its cool to have)

Once i have the sketch done i start doing a 1st look in Black and white mode (mostly i do this for the anatomy painting as it lets me work more freely without worring on colors etc)

Then i apply in color mode (photoshop) a first approach and test saturation values, etc.
After i work the character i start doing the backround and try to adjust the color, saturation, levels etc so i can match the character with the setting.

A thing i cant deny is that i sometimes try to play with the idea and here i tried to see how the character would look with bigger breasts and a more open dress to enhance the breast view.

Since the idea didnt really match the feeling of the picture, i return to the original dress (but keeping the breast update :D)

FInally i added a small lightsource from above to give somehow a bit more dramatic look and to enhance the presence of the character in the middle of the scene (also added the stockings i was forgetting from the inital sketch XD)

This is a process i have been using like forever and i hope to keep improving it overtime so i hope you like this one.
