LATL was one of the last songs I wrote on Ends. I had written a lot of songs about ending and beginning and I wanted to explore 'the middle.' How our lives begin in the middle of other people's stories. How those stories inform our existence despite our ignorance. We inherit baggage that we cannot comprehend, but we also inherit love.
With many of these songs, I had to turn off the part of my brain that concerned itself with coming across as overly sentimental or cheesy. I really didn't want to edit my feelings with this record, even if that meant embarrassing myself.
