Cover Night Vol. 2 - March 13!

Howdy folks!

Thanks for a successful Cover Night Vol. 1! I had a lot of fun.

Next one is Thursday, March 13 at 8 pm EST. This is a good place to get in your requests for the next stream!

Of course, I’ll prioritize getting to folks that I didn’t get to last time. Feel free to repost your previous request or something new.

How do we feel about making cover night replays available to all patrons one month later? Or do we like this being our own exclusive little thing?

Cheers!

Nick

No Cigar by Millencolin

dweeb

Nothing by Bruno Major please!

emeon

Ooh, how about "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service

Michael Lavery

Can't See (Useless) - Oingo Boingo, and I'm glad these are getting shared with the world! They deserve to be unleashed.

Ian

Throwing my request out there for Wheat Kings by the Tragically Hip (or any Hip at all) :) hope you're having a blast at Disney!

Samantha Gallagher

Also, I know you’ll prioritize others, but an ear-worm for later, Police - Message in a Bottle

Lissa Cereal

Maybe just clips/a mashup of what all was played? That way you can hopefully avoid copyright and it still entices people to pay to see the whole song/video

Lissa Cereal

Another thought, could posting you playing covers of songs get you DMCA'd?

Heart in a cage - cover by Chris Thile / Strokes Original I think releasing these a month later is fair, some people won't be able to afford to support, but a month later doesn't necessarily take away from our support perks. In my opinion, it will show people what they're missing and maybe convince them the extra $10 or a new sub is worth it to be there. I also believe that anything shorter than a month will not incentivize people to sub as that gives them a window that keeps them relevant with the experience as if they were there, but a month is long enough where its more of "here is what you missed".

Pictures of You - The Cure

Dan Pawlak

My wager still stands - hit that E5 in Bad Ambassador by The Divine Comedy and I will up my pledge. I believe in you. This sounds legit but I have no idea if it's something readable https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-divine-comedy/bad-ambassador-guitar-pro-787802

Rachel

Would love to hear you take on "Private Life" by Oingo Boingo!

Cadaver Dave

I like the idea of making the stream available later. Helps to entice people to the party. Also gonna put in a cover suggestion for Powerman by The Kinks.

Molly Rosen

Didn’t realize hitting enter would post. Anyway my REQUEST is Delicate by Damien Rice. Hadn’t thought about that song in a few years but it just came back to me the other day.

Carl Kloster

Sharing after a month gives people a chance to see what they missed out on and why they should jump in, so I’m all for it. REQUEST:

Carl Kloster

Still requesting "Come back to Dakota" by Moes Haven. There is a live version by "The Motern Manly Band" that might be a more fitting way to play it

casey winters

I'm going to keep my original request of Elysian Woes by Opeth, but modify it by saying Will O the Wisp by the same artist is an acceptable alternative, if that song speaks to you more. Bit on the folky side, which seems more familiar, but fair warning on the intense legato throughout

Dillon O'Brien

Hell freaking yup

Dillon O'Brien

A month later for the rest of the taxpayers is fine. Still keeps them in the loop, but maintains an incentive to upgrade

Dillon O'Brien

Everybody Knows by Leonard Cohen. Always wanted to hear this in an acoustic styling.

Tink

Resubmitting my previous request: The Best Of Me - The Starting Line. As someone who almost exclusively replays streams because I can't watch them live, if I knew you were going to post a replay a month later it would disincentivize becoming a triple-taxer. If your intent is to get more triple-taxers, I'd keep it exclusive, for now.

Phelps

Rewatching Saul right now!

Tink

Share after a month sounds fair. The people deserve it (probably).

Dan Pawlak

I would love to hear Rock'n'Roll Lifestyle by CAKE :) I'm indifferent to whether or not other patrons can hear the covers later on, but I'd love to eventually have the covers ripped from the stream and put somewhere for download so I can add them to my collection.

Bash Vollink

Humbly resubmitting my previous request: The Messenger by Linkin Park

Dallas Odom

I’d love to hear “Blue, Red and Grey” by the Who (or anything by the Who would be fun). And yes to making the replays available to all patrons!

Manda Irle

Cover night replays to the people!

Robert Lavery

I am really hoping for “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry or Ain’t that a “Kick in the Head” by Dean Martin
