My daughter has been very into this song I did for Netflix Jr in 2020.
I've been meaning to post for a few weeks, but the election took the wind out of my sails and I've struggled to find anything productive to say. I spent Trump's first term totally bewildered and it dominated my creative output. Super Deluxe. Swords. Songs on the Computer. Just the thought of another 4 years of this guy in the White House is exhausting. Especially with the cavalcade of characters he's assembled.
I’ve been feeling a bit self-conscious about releasing this new album right now, given its my least political record to date. I've reassured myself that themes of seeking light amidst darkness in the form of family and community give it its own relevance.
Though I’m frustrated and anxious about the future, I'm making a concerted effort not to let this administration steal my joy. To quote the great Nick Cave, "Hopefulness is not a neutral position — it is adversarial. It is the warrior emotion that can lay waste to cynicism."
UPDATES:
- Sadly, the 'Ends' album stream is not happening this weekend. I'm hopeful we might be able to the 2nd or 3rd week of December 🤞
-We're shooting a music video for Punchline this weekend and officially releasing December 18! Patrons will of course get an early look. Single art by the amazing @primordialcreatures
-Randy Steele shared some demos and asked if I would be interested in producing his new record. The songs are fantastic; deep and incredibly personal. We began work on the first single on Monday. I'm honored to be working on it and super excited to share!
-We may have some big announcements regarding 2025 tour dates in the coming weeks
-SNL Cuatro is still under construction. Sorry for the delay!

Thanks for sharing man, you're music has been a big source of relief and comfort for all of us, and Ends is shaping up to be a real masterpiece, and I have faith that Big Nick will carry us through. If you have a chance, I recommend watching Andor, the Star Wars show, it pumps me up with it's themes of resistance and redemption, etc.

Exciting to have you producing for Randy. I told him of a favorite part in "Cheers to Rob" and he said that whoever he was working with at that time wanted that part taken out. You track record proves your ability to leave in the best bits
