(Belated) Week #22 Update!

Apologies for posting about week #22 in the middle of week #23.
I was pretty much glued to my computer Thursday morning - Saturday evening converting 50+ hours of home movies onto computer. It was a very trippy experience! My parents shot a lot of video when I was really young and then I got my own camera when I was in 5th grade. I was constantly "making movies" or recording myself playing guitar until I was in high school.
I had the idea that there might be some interesting visuals that I could repurpose for one of these new songs. I combed through the 50+ hours of footage and pulled about 90 minutes of potentially useable material. I laid the new album underneath it, and I'll tell you, this music is already very personal, but listening as my life literally flashed before my eyes was especially surreal and emotional. It started an internal debate on how much of yourself you should share with people. How much is too much? When does artistic expression become exploitation? Does it matter? Luckily, I don't have to figure any of that out today.
I'm working on Hold You with Carl Cadwell today! Really excited to see how this one comes together.
Okay, talk soon!

My dad did something similar with the family’s old home movies and photos, and has them all backed up digitally now. It’s kinda crazy how, now almost everyone has a camera in their pocket, and any random moment can be captured, that it makes those older ones seem more, special, in a way,
