Week #15 Update!

Greetings From My Treadmill Part 2.

I’ve officially lost 20 lbs since January 1st! Let’s see if I can keep it off for once.

I had back-to-back dinners with Mikey (Desmond) Sunday and Monday night which is a blessing. We don’t get to see each other a lot outside of “work” so it was nice to hang and talk movies and life and what not.

Tuesday night we had our first official rehearsal of the year, and we didn’t play a single song! We sat in a circle and talked about the new music. It was great and really productive.

I started work on another new song this week that is still very under construction. It starts out as a meditation on how we’re thrust into life in the middle of other people’s stories with no context, no understanding or awareness of how that missing context shapes us. Generations of loss, trauma, illness, etc. And somehow amidst all of that, there is love.

Boy, typing all of this makes me really excited to get back to making dumb joke songs!

Congrats to the Chiefs on tonight’s victory. It brought back memories of living in Kansas City when I was a young boy and going to games with my family. 1995 I believe? I can’t remember if Kelce or Mahoney were around back then.
