New Music Demo Reel
Added 2024-01-13 23:03:57 +0000 UTCFeliz Triple Taxers! Here are snippets of what I've been up to the past few months and beyond. Please disregard if you would like to unwrap the finished products at a later time.
Come Again (November 2023)
This is the first thing I began work on after going offline in November. Adam, Eric, and Jon have all tracked their parts, but they aren't featured on this demo. Adam will likely begin work on the mix after we meet next week. Strong contender for lead single since it's the furthest along.
All On Red (November 2023)
Pretty straightforward pop song. Another potential single.
Ends (November 2023)
Labored over this one for a few weeks, pretty excited about it. Jon tracked some great horn parts that I haven't implemented yet.
Here Comes The Cold (November 2023)
Stripped down acoustic track about my late grandfather. Probably the most intimate of the bunch.
Punchline (December 2023)
If you haven't yet, listen to the full song on my last post!
Hi Baby (January 2023)
AKA Fatherhood: Year Two
No One's Keeping Count (November 2023)
Another stripped down acoustic track that would serve as more of an interlude / intro to Ends. I've lost some excitement for it, so it's likely on the chopping block.
Show You (January 2021)
AKA Fatherhood: Year One
Who Am I (May 2023)
Written on Eric's upright bass in between SNL 2 & 3. Another one I'm not super excited about, in danger of losing its head.
Nothing To Nowhere (July 2018 / 2020)
I wrote about this one a few weeks back. A resurrected voice memo that I worked on with Jon in 2020 and never released.
Hold You (December 2023)
AKA Fatherhood: Year Three. I'm considering fleshing out both versions and bringing in the Chattanooga Two for one of them.
Untitled (January 2024)
The newest song that I spent all of my time on this week. Potential RIP to the lyrics in this version.
Obituary (November 2022)
You know this one!
Blue Skies (March 2022)
A weird and stupid thing I started playing around with before I moved out of the old house. I forgot about it for almost two years.
Burn Both Ends (January 2023)
An instrumental I made in January and added lyrics to a few weeks ago.

STUNNING WORK. Even in these small clips there's something interesting going on that pricks my ears up. I love it all so much. Hold You continues to punch me in the gut (but in a good way, I swear). I lost my darling Dad in '19, he was a doting father, would do anything for me, if I needed him to move a mountain he would have done it, but he was a very stoic man. He was never one to talk of emotional things, and this song brings home the sort of very special love he must have felt for me. It's incredibly emotional, I have tears flowing as a write this even, I feel my father's love through this song and it's truly beautiful. If there was ever a song that deserved two versions it's this.
