Spring Tour + More Announcements!

Welcome new patrons! If you missed our zoom after-party on Saturday, a replay will be available later this week. Our beloved drummer Adam professionally mixes and masters all of the audio and that typically takes a few days. In the meantime, you can find all past zoom parties, soundboard recordings, stems, demos and more on the welcome page here. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions.

What a weekend! I'll get into the nitty gritty on how everything went down in a moment, but first I'd like to do some housekeeping. Dates!

*Patreon Livestreams:

Friday, February 10 - Super Deluxe Music Watch-Along

Saturday, February 18 - Let's Write a Song! Vol. 2

Saturday, February 24 - Creativity Workshop #2 (Triple Taxpayers)

Friday, March 03 - Music Video Watch-Along (Swords, Etc, Singles)

Friday, March 10 - Let's Write a Song! Vol.3

Friday, March 17 - Zoom Hangout: Irishman Edition

Saturday, March 25 - Saturday Nick Lutsko: Episode 2 + After Party

*These dates might fluctuate a bit, but I'll always try to give at least a few days notice. We're going to try wrapping up the SNL after-parties closer to midnight moving forward, so I'm going to start doing casual zoom hangouts more frequently. This will typically be me by myself (perhaps with special guest/s) prioritizing chatting with you all over performances.

Another thing I would like to figure out before the next Saturday Nick Lutsko is whether we can incorporate zoom into OBS and do an unlisted YouTube link for those who might be too intimidated to join zoom.

Thanks everyone for tuning into "Saturday Nick Lutsko: Episode 1." It's a small miracle that everything went as smoothly as it did. So much of it came together last minute. I woke up on Friday morning to Brielle's fantastic new and improved CGI renderings of Desmond, then went straight downstairs and began work on the "House of D" theme song. We shot and edited all of the "Breaking News" segment that day as well. I was editing video up until the band arrived for sound check at 5 on Saturday.

There are so many things that could have gone wrong. Sure, there were hiccups here and there but otherwise I've been on cloud 9. My hands were so full with video stuff that I was really concerned with how familiar I was with my own script.

For those who are interested in going wayyy deep behind the scenes, here is the very rough "script" I wrote a week earlier. I wrote it at a Starbucks over the course of a day or two. Very stream of consciousness. I told everyone to read it for context but don't spend too much time trying to memorize anything. Just get familiar with the beats from this outline and use your own words.

We did a couple last minute run throughs that were desperately needed. I've done productions like this a few times now, but never live. Incredibly nerve-racking!

Super proud of everyone involved. Brielle continues to raise the bar. Eric knocked it out of the park in his duel role. Very happy with Adam's mix and he made me laugh a lot during the after party. Randy and John Boulware are not only phenomenal musicians but some of the nicest dudes ever. Mikey perhaps had some of the heaviest lifting as Desmond and he definitely rose to the occasion. Jakey and his buddy Riley bumped up the production value by about 2,000 notches. And Cowboy Jon turned in his best best performance yet. I've watched "I Feel Like A Cowboy" over and over and I laugh very hard every time.

We had so much fun and we hope you all did too. It was lovely seeing everyone at the after party. Look forward to doing it all again on March 25th!

Ciao!

Nick

God, I don't know why "Desmond is still hammering Nick about the “House of D” clip" in the outline got me but I laughed so hard when I hit that part. Wonderful work and absolutely huge shout out to everybody there and working to make it happen. <3 you guys.

Big THANKS as always Nick for the SNL show, Zoom party hangouts. You & the crew are awesome Content Creators, to go along with Super Talented musicians. Also Thanks for putting so much love, time and effort into this community. We all truly appreciate it and have a hell of a time on this train (everywhere it takes us.) Excited to see you in Chicago again (we need to get you a residency here). Thanks again & Be Well!

Amazing production and job with the stream!!! Just like Dan said, props to everyone involved, love how Eric, CBJ and Mikey did their roles. Such a fun watch, will be revisiting it often! Also, very excited about you coming to Charlotte!! Will try to make it to a show for the first time :) Thanks for everything you do, Nick! <3

I'll second Dan. I was extremely impressed with the production of the YouTube portion. It was so good I did doubt that it was actually live until there was proof. Really awesome.

Molly Rosen

The whole production & show was taken to just a whole new wonderful level. Really was amazing. Everything sounded & looked great across both platforms! And all of you in that room deserve Webbys. CBJ, ERIC, MIKEY: all hilarious in all their multiple roles. The Chattanooga Two just make everything better—especially the looks while insanity is going on around them. A great time in the Grotto.
