Here's a live performance of Superior we did at Chatt Library sometime in 2017. This is pre-Cowboy Jon/Professor Hornsby. I'm pretty sure this was shot and recorded for a VaynerMedia podcast but I'm not sure whether it was ever released.
I probably should have went into this when I shared the Live at the Library podcast, but Chattanooga Public Library has a state of the art recording studio on the 4th floor that is free to access with a library card. We tracked all (most?) of the horns, xylophone, strings and (real) drums there.
Some quick facts:
-Jacob/Brother Cobb is fairly new to the band here, he eventually ended up singing falsetto/third part harmony live.
-Adam forgot to put on his Stumpy head
-Impromptu whistle solo by me here. For whatever reason, Greezy didn't have his keyboard. He used to Geddy Lee it and play bass + the keyboard solo at the same time. Now Jon takes the solo on sax.
-This is the first song I wrote/recorded with the custom diamondback stringworks guitar. I won it at a battle of the bands in 2016.
-Also the first song I wrote/recorded in Grandma's basement.
-The lyrics toward the end were pulled from an unreleased song I wrote in high school.
I don't need my eyes to see / the truth will never set me free / I don't ever want to be anything but everything
They were initially thrown is as placeholder but they accidentally ended up fitting.
TTFN!
