Thanks for this peek behind the basement curtain. If your process evolved to where you learned to trust your songwriting instincts, then that includes when your instinct tells you to put a concept down or on hold. No one should ever feel let down by that. Sorry to hear about the lizard… I’d be interested to know the rat’s whereabouts at the time of Mr. Lizard’s demise. Does it have an alibi?

Seeing another songwriter’s process is insanely cool. Sometimes you feel like you live alone on block mountain, it’s nice to see it’s more of a resort…less of a solo quest. It’s also a testament to the ear-worm quality of “Swords” that I…had to stop listening to it for a few days bc it gets lodged in and what I write comes out sounding way too similar. Sounds like you have bad luck with lizards friend. Sewers, sticky pads…my daughter wrote you a song to help. “I lost my lizard in the sewer, called grandma and she cried.”…being a parent is hard as all get out, but when your child writes lizard songs it’s all worth it. Or when they yell “it’s Dan Bongino” at another child’s Halloween costume. All worth it.

This was such a cool look behind the scenes, and such a roller coaster of emotions towards the end! Seems like you have bad luck with lizards :(

Loved the behind the scenes look. I think truth social was hacked within hours? You could have put out what you have and cut it saying you got hacked haha. Can’t wait to hear what you end up doing with it. Don’t be too hard on yourself - the fact that you have yet to abandon a single song on the computer idea is extremely impressive. I don’t feel disappointed by you in the least. All the best with the rat. We had mice at our previous home and we played the game of killing and trapping quite a bit.

Nick..I’ve never joined a patreon before or stayed up till 3 in the morning to watch a show by a random, immensely talented singer songwriter from Tennessee I came across on Twitter. You’ve created a weird and wonderful world around you that’s a lovely distraction from the dystopian hells-cape we are descending into over here. Your fans that now include myself (after a month of consuming your content) seem an invested bunch. Don’t think you have to worry we’ll drift away anytime soon. Take your time. All the best. The only way I was able to solve a rodent infestation was to hire a pest control company that sealed up the entire house and set traps baited with Starburst. It's been over a year of rat-less bliss!
