Town Hall (oween)
Added 2021-10-15 18:58:04 +0000 UTCTown meeting! Town meeting!
I'm thinking about hosting an event on Patreon for every Halloween (1/31, 3/31, 5/31, 7/31, 8/31, 10/31, & 12/31).
We'll kick things off with this month's Halloween #6 and make it open to to the public. I think it'll be a mix of what we did last week - some performance & chatting with patrons but with more structure. Probably will try to pick a different topic/theme for each Halloween.
My question for you all is if we move forward with this plan, would you rather celebrate on the 31st's (mostly week nights) or should we make the preceding Saturday night the "observed" holiday? Step up to the podium and let your voice be heard.
ALSO, I've added a new goal to the patreon. When/If we hit 1,000 patrons, I'll put out a Songs on the Computer comic book with artwork by Travis Knight. We've been talking about this for a while and I think it'll be a fun way to expand on some of the lore in between songs.
It's quite a trek to 1K, so it's time to start evangelizing. Please remind all friends/family/every stranger that the Halloween Tax is mandatory. If you sense any sort of reluctance, simply remind them what happened to Beetlejuice.
Cheers!
Nick

I think doing it on the 31st fits the theme the best but I personally wouldn't mind either way.

2021-10-21 19:53:23 +0000 UTCAs much as I’d love the real 31st, having it on the weekend would make it way more possible for me to come as I’m in the UK and the time zone lag is a fun-killer, yknow

2021-10-18 13:13:42 +0000 UTCYeah I have a tough time with saturdays so 31sts would be tight
2021-10-17 16:36:33 +0000 UTCThat’s really a great point. I have a friend who literally only works Saturday nights and they’ve never been able to attend Saturday romps.
2021-10-17 01:48:44 +0000 UTCIf it's on the 31st there's less of a chance they'll be people who can never make it because they're always working on saturday nights or something

2021-10-16 13:39:56 +0000 UTC31sts are way more metal, Halloween is metal.
2021-10-16 02:16:28 +0000 UTCI love this idea!!! Will the Halloween celebrations take place at a time that's a little easier for international fans to join? Obviously your own schedule takes precedence, but the last zoom call was unfortunately on way too late for my timezone (UK) and I'd love to be able to attend in future!

2021-10-16 00:32:44 +0000 UTCI vote for the preceding Saturday, even though I find it hard to believe this is a democracy considering you aren't an elected official

2021-10-16 00:03:03 +0000 UTCHappy for either, though I’m significantly more likely to attend on a weekend observed holiday if the time is the same as the last live session. Regardless, if I miss I’ll definitely watch later once it’s posted.

2021-10-15 22:16:59 +0000 UTCI kinda like the idea of doing it ON the 31st. Feels more official. Also then I will never have to spend time figuring out what date it will be because it will always be the 31st. Also then if there are people who like work weekend nights they're never gonna be able to make it if its always on Saturday, but if its the 31st you get a variety of days of the week? Either way works for me though.

2021-10-15 21:21:45 +0000 UTCWhat I like about this idea is that any 31st can be Halloween... but not every month has a 31st. If it's just any convenient Saturday, then you could do it every single month, which makes it a little less special. So I'm in favor of just 31sts. (Although it would be fun to do a February one and call it February 31st, or something like that.)
2021-10-15 21:07:26 +0000 UTCFully on board for this idea. Saturday observed is my vote.
