Hi punks!
Eris here! This month's Newscake will be exceptionally in text format only. The usual Newscakes should come back soon!
This year has been really intense for us: we released 6 games of our own and 2 guest games, several prototypes, and there are 4 games left to create in order to achieve our "1 game per month" goal for 2025. We also tried lots of new things: the release of a new video format, going to festivals (see Stunfest's pic above!)... And we still have Steam releases to prepare for at least 7 games next year... It's a lot!
Even if we're really proud of what we've done so far, maintaining this rate is more tiring than we anticipated, especially for Rémy.
They originally wanted to wait for 2026 to take a break, but it became more and more exhausting to work on their games since this summer. In order for Rémy to take a proper break, we decided to stop now our "1 game per month" goal. We're still planning to release the missing games for September and October, but we're going to freeze Patreon subscriptions for November and December. Subscriptions will resume in January!
This also means that Remy's Flippin' Dungeon may not get released until Rémy has completely recovered and they want to work on this game again. They also have many ideas they would like to try and show you once they feel rested enough. I'm pretty sure you're gonna love what they're cooking!

That being said, Benjamin is still working on his next game which should be our next release!
In Clockwise Knight, play as a knight who can only strike clockwise, and slash your way down to the boss! On each floor, you have to defeat every monster in order to access the next one, and every time you move or strike, enemies move or attack as well.
You only strike half circles around yourself, and your sword moves behind you every time you move. In order to strike enemies, you have to make sure they're near enough and on the right side of your sword. You also have to be careful to not be in reach of your enemies’ attacks, or to kill them before they can hurt you. The further your sword travels before hitting an enemy, the stronger the hit will be!
You can also find items on some floors, and collect them to become stronger. Everytime you die, you gain experience depending on what floor you reached in your run. This experience can be used to get permanent bonuses, and to find the location of the boss.
Benjamin released a free pico 8 version of Clockwise Knight a few weeks ago that you can try here!
Benjamin is still working on the sugar release that should come out next month, and will take the slot of our September game! The new version comes with a new artstyle. He is adding more content and he still has some balancing to do before we can release it.
That's it for this month! This is the first Newscake I’ve ever written myself so I hope it was okay for you guys! I also hope Rémy's sudden break doesn't concern you too much, to be frank I think they needed one for a few months now and I'm happy they're taking care of themself. They're still very motivated to do lots of games, they just need some vacations to recover and keep their motivation!
See you soon for Benjamin's game: Clockwise Knight!
Take care! We love you! ♥️
