NEWSCAKE March '25 - Fire & Brimstone, Alien Ranger, merging game, whacking moles, letter grid

Hi punks!

It seems you really liked the super quick post last month, so I'm going to keep this one short and sweet as well!

But first, thanks to the new subscribers this month! We're slowly trying to bring more attention to the Patreon again now that we're actually releasing a new game every month, so we really appreciate you!

Fire & Brimstone came a bit late this month but it is here! It's a traditional roguelike with a randomized skilltree and a funny storyline. It's a great contained little game, with runs of about 20 to 30 minutes and lots of unique situations every time. I think it's one of my personal favorites of all the games we've made so far.

It's also our third game this year! Three games in three months! We're excited to keep the streak going!

Eris has been working on Alien Ranger since late January. It's a deckbuilding auto-battler exploration game where you play as an alien ranger investigating an alien forest fire!

This may be the new game for April, depending on whether Eris manages to finish it on time!

This is a project Benjamin started in parallel to Fire & Brimstone and is now fully on. It's a NES-styled fantasy defender where you merge and use heroes to fight off oncoming enemies!

This one may also be the new game for April!

This is just something I started, it's called Whacky Joe and it's all about whacking moles. Well okay, there's more to the idea than that, but it's still very early so I prefer not to say too much. And besides I might even drop this one because...

I also started something else! This one is based off Pancelor's incredible Make Ten which I cannot recommend enough. (it's free!) I litterally made this prototype in two evenings, and I think this could be a really quick game to make, so it might actually also be the new game for April!

It's a strange situation to have three games that could be coming out this month, but it's all part of the fun. The state of things does mean that whichever game comes out, it will probably happen towards the end of the month again. But we'll be working on bringing releases closer to the beginning of the month in the future.
