NEWSCAKE: Shotgun King update on the 30th, Horizons: The End of Words and Hot Wax coming in October!

Hi punks!

Another month has come by! We're getting ready to finally release the Shotgun King update on Monday, and we have two other games in the works for October!

I spent pretty much all of September doing minor changes and bugfixes on Shotgun King and coordinating the translators for the update. I also did some work on our game engine Sugar, but still it feels pretty crazy to have spent so much time with our boomstick despot. At least the game seems to be pretty stable for the release, yay for that!

I'm making a brand new Shotgun King trailer for the occasion and then we'll finally release the update out of beta on Monday. It's sure to be an interesting week!

Benjamin is still working on Horizons! The space-exploring wordgame has come a long way since its jam version and we're confident about releasing it in October. Currently Benjamin is busy filling the universe with things and Pentadrangle is busy filling it with noise.

Hot Wax is set to release in October as well! We're thinking a candle-burning Tetris-like should be a perfect fit for the spooky season!

I abandoned the game in August so I could focus on Shotgun King, but the game was pretty close to done, so it's just a matter of wrapping it up. I can't wait to bring you this one, it too has come a long way since the original jam version. Playing that version actually feels like playing a demake of the final game now haha.

Eris made a new free game for GBJAM! She made Tummy Bonbons, a game where you control a monster which needs to eat candy to grow scarier and scare more kids into giving it candy! It's a small offering, but it works quite well and it is pretty addictive!

This one probably won't make it into a full punkcake anytime soon but still Eris is working on a quick postjam version to complete the experience, so you can look forward to that soon!

Since we're wanting to release two games in October, you are getting charged for the start of the month. (you already paid for the other game back in June due to an error of judgement from us, so we should be all good by the end of October)
