This is a practice that focuses on clearing and nourishing the lungs and heart. It will help you move through congestion, melancholy, and grief — while awakening love, clarity, and healing. Grief has been an energy affecting many of us lately. By witnessing the process and energy of grief, we can receive its gifts of healing and feel the love that’s always moving through us. Begin with a seated meditation and some acupressure massage, followed by gentle yet potent stretching in melting heart, crocodile variations, and shoulder openers. We’ll then transition to the back for reclined butterfly with open arms, gentle twists with conscious arm placements, kirtan kriya variations to balance the brain, and half moon.
Props: one firm pillow or bolster or block
Benefits: processing grief, heart awakening, congestion, lungs, seasonal allergies, immune system, side body, shoulders and arms, peace in stillness, meeting yourself where you are
