This is one of my favorite books of all time. I remember discovering the late John O’Donohue through the poem “Beannacht,” which is the Gaelic word for “blessing.” When I made my first marketing postcards for yoga, I placed that poem on the back, and often read parts of it during classes. (You’ll find that poem on the insert of this book.)
Then one day, several years ago when I was a newbie yoga teacher, a student who regularly attended my evening class handed me his copy of Anam Cara, which was so neatly covered in protective paper and looked like it had never been read, so I was scared to borrow it. However, it moved me so much that I ended up purchasing my own copy and furiously highlighted and marked it, and (at times) cried tears on it. That particular loved copy was lent to a soul friend (an anam cara) who ended up keeping it, but I just bought a new one and can’t wait to dive back in.
I hope you treasure this beautiful read. <3
