Mudra Meditation to Combat Overwhelm

The energy of this time is not without numerous challenges and difficulties. It seems we are all being pushed to our edges of comfort – through tests, unexpected diversions, and facing some of our greatest fears. It seems that every time I think I have a handle on things, another test arrives to create another, deeper edge. And while this can certainly be expansive (I have accomplished more self-growth in the past few weeks than I have in years), it takes a massive toll on the body, mind, and nervous system.

When things are upended, the root chakra needs healing, energy systems need strengthening, and the body craves vitality as much as it craves breathing. I came to this practice today to cultivate some additional strength and endurance in these times of tests and obstacles. I hope it helps you to do the same.

Note: This particular mudra can feel uncomfortable after a few minutes, but that feeling goes away. There’s a wonderful cooling and healing sensation once it is released. However, please listen to your body and practice mindfully in a way that supports and empowers you.
