I will make sure to intertwine his occupation somehow in the conversation/story.

Depends. If he’s a decent guy than a tradesman (plumber, electrician, mechanic). If he’s an asshat than a profession that has a reputation for looking down their noses at people (specialized doctor like pediatric cardiologist, judge, university professor, author of critically acclaimed but not widely read books)
