The legendary Undead Archers of the Burial Host serve as tireless artillery units, inexorable in their mission to provide cover for the marching troops. The Host’s shambling hordes advance through a torrent of Rothail arrows. Even though their deteriorated musculature only allows the use of shortbows, they can be deployed further forward than regular archers, as an undead archer felled by return fire may rise again to continue their ceaseless barrage. Even when outmaneuvered and locked in melee combat, the Host’s archers refuse to yield, continuing their unrelenting volleys until physically incapable of doing so.
The undead archers complement the likes of our Undead Pikemen, Skeletal Sappers and Witherflesh Colossi as a ranged option for every encounter that prominently features undead. Their relentless nature is signified by the Undead Vigour ability characteristic for basic undead creatures, keeping them in the fight way longer than naturally possible.
Ranks of archers are able to make use of their Sustained Barrage legendary action. This allows every archer to make an attack outside of their turn, evoking the image of the inexorable undead archers continuously raining down rotten salvos on their enemies.
