
Dear Beneos Tokens Community,
We are writing to inform you about significant changes to our Patreon project, "Beneos Tokens". Our primary goal has always been to provide you with the best possible user experience. After careful consideration, we have decided to make some changes to our offerings.
In the past, we offered Animation Switching for FoundryVTT, where all tokens received a multitude of individual animation files. However, we found that FoundryVTT is not designed for rapid switching of Actor-Animations, leading to unpredictable reactions and significant performance issues. We've realized that we need to focus on what works well, rather than pursuing a half-hearted solution.

We have decided not to continue with Animation Switching in its current form. Instead, we will provide the Beneos Tokens module with useful Quality of Life updates. We will also shift the focus of this Patreon from EXCLUSIVELY Beneos Tokens to Animated Tokens, Spells, and Items. This means we will further develop our custom content, which many of you have noticed we've been adding to each release over the past six months.

We plan to expand our search engine so you can comfortably browse our Magic Items and Custom Spells. We also plan to offer (free) printable Item and Spell cards, maintaining the high-quality you've come to expect from Beneos. Regarding animations, there will no longer be Animation Switching in its previous form. Future tokens will continue to have multiple Idle Animations in Top Down and Isometric perspectives. Additionally, our cool Preview Sequences will remain. The only interactivity will be a death token that is displayed instead of the idle animation when the creature falls to 0 HP.

We will invest the time we save into our tokens, items, and spells, and rename the Beneos Tokens module to "Beneos Module". This will allow us to develop more Quality of Life features for both Beneos Battlemaps and Beneos Tokens in the future. We've spent too much time trying to make a non-viable solution work, and we hope you understand.
As proof of how important this is to us, we will soon not only release compatibility with FoundryVTT v11 but also introduce rudimentary Pathfinder 2E support. The long-awaited Token Switcher will allow you to easily equip a self-built token with Beneos Token Creature animations. Want to equip the Curse of Strahd Vampire Spawn with Beneos Tokens animations? Even though we don't have a huge number of Patrons here, Beneos Tokens, Spells, and Items have truly grown on us and we love this work. We hope you understand why we waited so long to take this step. Without this limitation and fear that people are constantly enjoying our content in poor quality, we will focus on the module, search functions, and content diversity.
We want to assure you that these decisions were not made lightly, but with the aim of improving the overall user experience and the quality of our offerings. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
The rest will not change! There will still be a token every week in the usual good quality. There will still be loyalty tokens and hopefully even more token packs, like the goblin pack from last time.
