Klabautermänner are manifestations of a ships spirit, a result of a deep bond between a storied vessel and its crew. Mostly acting as an unseen force of good, when taking physical Klabautermänner love to manifest as a skeletal mariner, guiding their threatened vessel through a storm, repelling a boarding party or assisting in navigating treacherous waters. As a crew's bond and reputation grows, so does the Klabautermann's power - the mightiest of them being able to assert their control over weather and sea to prevent imminent disaster.
