I agree with your point of view but I still can't help but be cautious of those MSM people. Now here's something progressive for you (it's around a month old though)... When NZ PM Jacinda Ardern came back to work from her maternity leave, she announced a freeze on MP's parliamentary wages. Yeah, why not have them earning an honest wage until they're actually doing some good for the country. Oh, and the newly elected Australian Scott Morrison is bad, very bad. It's funny how the people never voted for him either. I think he will not be PM for very long. I'm expecting him to be voted out in the next election, tbh.

Good call on the Kaepernick issue, there's not much of substance for you to cover there that hasn't already been covered. As for the Kavanaugh hearings, I do believe it is worth covering them, even before they get further underway. It has already been fairly well covered that the Democrats essentially caved in and allowed the hearings for Trump's judicial picks, including Kavanaugh, to be fast-tracked. This also holds true for certain of Kavanaugh's views, such as him being anti-abortion rights. It has been less covered that Kavanaugh's ascension to the Supreme Court would have nearly immediate negative effects on net neutrality and the internet. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/08/trump-admin-asks-supreme-court-to-re-kill-already-dead-net-neutrality-rules/ https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/kavanaugh-defends-dissent-in-net-neutrality-decision Kavanaugh is very actively involved in keeping net neutrality rules repealed and preventing them from being reinstated. He is doing everything within his power to dissent from and deny effective legal action which would combat Ajit Pai's FCC and the ISP's on the matter. He is also a relatively young pick for a Supreme Court position- if he is sworn in, he will act decisively on behalf of the ISP's, and make it that much more difficult for us to fight back against those like Ajit Pai and the ISP's (and their lobbyists) for potentially decades to come. There are many reasons we need American citizens to contact our Senators and demand them to vote against Kavanaugh being brought onto the Supreme Court. Defenders of net neutrality in the US would face the single most resounding loss in modern history if Kavanaugh is sworn into the Supreme Court. This issue is that important, and it's absolutely worth talking about sooner rather than later.
