As a college student in 1977-80, I was looking for a Physical Education classes to take. I chose fencing, because the instructor had a 'cool name' : Yves Auriol
After teaching at Portland State, Yves went on to become the fencing coach at Notre Dame, AND a 4 time US Olympic Head Coach. If that wasn't enough, his teaching assistants were Robert (Bob) and Michael Marx... both with international experience.
(my first set of PE courses were a year of Karate classes taught by Junki Chung (now Yoshida). Junki is the founder of Yoshida's Sauces... and a 7th level black belt from his days in Japan. I lucked on out having TWO amazing instructors at the college level.
Good on ya' for holding your own on the stripe.
Allez !!
