When I was an innocent, sheltered teen, I thought he was singing about periods π€¦ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ. I wasnβt really listening to the lyrics, just caught up in that beautiful tune. I agree, the juxtaposition makes it so powerful.

Focus is on the women who are beat and abused by an abusive husband or boyfriend and how they bleed from the heart emotionally. It juxtaposes how an abusive man controls a woman through small moments of pleasure represented by the music. It is not Alice Cooper's misogyny, He is siding with the victim.
