It is interesting that Christmas are just hard to write, let alone make popular. Most of the time they sound contrived, as you alluded to. I prefer the classics, going back hundreds of years, and up to some of the newer versions of older tunes. Big fan of Harry Connick Jr and Brian Setzer in that regard. However, this year I have a new song that I've listened to quite a bit. It's in Dutch, which I don't speak, and it's a pop tune, which I generally don't Christmas pop tunes.
