I think it was a phenomenal performance. You mentioned how its ok being nervous. Introducing yourself as one of the bands that shaped the 70s... i can just imagine. I think the huge factor was the dark, mysterious, and mystical tone which those performances kinda lacked. You dont have Jimmy Page dressed as the lord of dragons, there is no purple fog and stuff like that. All those guys are going through so much- Plant lost his son (Plant blamed it on Page and occult), Page was addicted to every drug on the planet, Bonham was a heavy alcoholic... it was tough and those were pretty much their last days as a band. After Physical Graffiti they began burning out. I think that everyone pretty much picked up on that. In 1980 John Bonham died and the band Led Zeppelin was over.

I love your point about live music and how its different every time its performed. I agree completely. I think we as fans, ( and I'm guilty of this as well ) ... often get caught in that trap you mentioned, expecting to hear exactly the album in a live setting, well then what would be the point... stay on the sofa and pop in the CD. Some of the best music out there is LIVE, its amazing to see what bands can do "on demand" :) Thanks for the great video Beth! :)
