I met Wen Lively during my first trip to Taiwan. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I landed. I had lived in Asia for several years but this was only my second trip to a Chinese-speaking country. I didn't know Chinese, could only recognize around 100 Chinese characters, and had no idea how much penetration English had in the country. Wen made things easy for me. Her English was excellent, we had a great shoot, and we went to Taipei 101 afterwards for dinner, where she introduced me to a beef noodle soup that serves as a national dish in Taiwan.
