Honestly in their total defense ( not attacking you) season 2 is controversial from a certain perspective. Many non-league fans were confused this season because again, they use the "Show, don't tell" route. Which typically is a very good route to go with entertainment as audience members don't want to be spoonfed things or be preached too with some type of messages. But if it's overused, that's when it becomes bad as it can leave many viewers lost, even if they have to use their own deduction skills or fill in head "canon" and really the worst is relying on outside media or stories you have, when any piece of entertainment should hopefully be able to stand its own two feet, especially for general audiences. Some moments are good for it such as Caitlyn grabbing Vi, but not saying anything, or Jinx saying "this wasn't how it was post to go" because they are leaving up to each viewer to perceived it their own way. But from a bigger narrative of explaining science, motives, characters development, etc. It can be bad if you don't have some dialogue to explain things. Long story short, you just have to balance it well.

I could be very wrong, I haven't played league since season 9(2019) but the league community has not been against Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor "bro-mance" and gay community. Caitlyn and Vi even have a few nicknames with most popular being "Caitvi" and they are lovers in the lore and game. At most, most of the league community was just upset some lore and characters got changed since Arcane is canon & it retconned some stuff. Aka both Jayce and Viktor had their lore changed with Arcane. The other issue is Arcane could've possibly needed at least one more season. Ironically opposite of the usual where a show runs too long, but was too short and tried to attempt a lot in one season. The league community is definitely toxic lol. Arcane has been a massive success for Riot Games in the sense of building a bigger universe, expanding into more entertainment media, and gathering more fans of general audience. I think player based has increased but not much retention of new players. That's on Riot though from a game developer standpoint because they haven't improved league in multiple ways for a long time. Also be aware Riot Games while founded in America, a large part of its ownership is actually owned by a company named "Tencent Games" which is a huge Chinese gaming company and they have majority stake in Riot Games, so I think there is tension sometimes from Riot in America vs. Tencent in China and whatever they want to do from a monetary standpoint with League, which the community has not been happy with also. League of legends is a considered a moba (multiplayer online battle arena) which consists of two teams 5 on a single map. The camera is a top down view and there's different lanes and jungle. The whole goal is for the one team to reach the other team's base and destroy their home crystal, but Riot Games has developed other games also, just league was their very first game. It launched in 2010 with 40 champions, each year is considered a season so last year was season 14 - or 14 years. There are up 170 champions now and Ambessa and Mel both got added to the game. Again I don't play anymore but kept up on community and game.

I personally think Cait got too much hate in season 2 from some people. Not only did her mother get murdered, Cait in the span of few days while only trying to do good , got kidnapped from her shower naked, terrorized , nearly killed , didn't shoot jinx because vi stopped her which eventually lead to her mothers death and at last the memorial attack. I mean people do joke that Jinx got to see Cait naked before Vi as a running joke and it is. But in also reality context of the show, drama and seriousness, I mean that would be pretty traumatic to be kidnapped naked, pretty vulnerable place regardless of being male or female. And then add in the rest. As cliche as it sounds, guilt, revenge, trauma all can easily outweigh normal thought processing and Caitlyn hasn't had time to process everything. And don't feel bad either, many people who don't know the lore, universe, etc. this season kind of got bonkers and attempts a lot in a short amount of time. Again, they definitely take the route of "show, don't tell." and don't really explain much.

I’m glad Ambessa is the first noxian most people will see because she has utilized the 3 pillars of strength of noxus that is Might : becoming a champion should prove it. if not, we'll see in the future. Guile : tricking a chem baron into attacking only to betray them and sowing a seed of hatred in Caitlyn and piltovian. Vision : securing 2 members in council. pledge herself to Caitlyn and use her to further her own gain. I just hope slightly for general audiences they flesh out her a little bit more and make her nuanced. I’m not against the typical good guy prevails against outright villain, just I feel like Riot made such a good show many complex and nuanced characters in the first season, I hope they can do with this season, at least for general audiences. She definitely cares about her family and just know the "man" her son crossed, if they are eluding to what fans know...he's VERY POWERFUL...I don't blame Ambessa for being scared af.... Some great call backs and personal takes after a few re-watches. I think one sad thing I perceived is that Caitlyn has already changed, one of Vi’s themes also is not accepting change or not realizing it’s already happened. I think Caitlyn has already changed mentally and in sad way, only kissed Vi to give her false reassurance. Also, if you look at episode one of season 2, after Mel is able to convince the counsel of not using hextech, Ambessa nods at her main guard, that’s when he goes to manipulate thee situation. And the other one I liked is when Mel talks to the Vastaya women (Vastaya are half fox, half human race in runeterra), the play they are showing is re-actment of crowing of "Jarvan 4 on Demacia kingdom. Jarv IV is the king of demacia." And last one off the top of my head, just like episode 3 of first season, this time Vi is left on her own and lost everybody. This show is very good at show, don't tell. So many times I wish more dialogue was written or I wrote in my own, but they left it up to audience to interpret the situation on their own perceptions . Also sad and morbid, Jinx was planning to die in the fight and have her body sent up in the fans, it's at least implied when she says "it wasn't post to go this way." I also told some friends and mentioned in some comments, I was personally not all surprised all of this happened in Act 1. If you watch the first season trailer, they basically don't reveal anything past act 1, I found it predictable, but.... I still found it absolutely thoroughly enjoyable. I am obviously probably biased as I am part of the many fans that knew most of this world coming into this show. But I am so glad you are along for this ride

League does have a huge cishet male player base which can be very toxic. There is also a gay league community and a lot of girls play league and are very good at it, they're just not as mainstream. Gay people love playing either support or mage characters cause most of them are beautiful women lol

(We will happily provide the context in the comments of the reactions lol. Again, the league community is huge and we love to see people learn more about this universe.) Second option is the chronological date of release videos, a playlist I made as best as possible. (Personal note, I would say the chronological release dates of videos is nice because you can see the evolution of League, Riot Games and how they have gotten to where they are now in today’s quality of storytelling) I will not take offense to whichever route you decide to take lol, I just think going from oldest to newest is kind of cooler and easier to digest as you start to understand the world, lore, and universe. There are Arcane characters that were added to the game during/after the show instead of just League characters being put into the show, which is cool. They were also already working on the next show that has the same art style but probably a different region and timeline. Just like GOT, same world different timelines and stories. It could also be a sequel for all we know
