I wanted to clear up something you mentioned about Grisha not being able to see all the future memories. Technically the attack titan doesn’t have a special power to see the future, it’s Eren that has the power to send memories back to people, since in the paths time is both instant and infinite, so there isn’t really a past/future. Eren is in a unique position as he is the first ever person to have the founding Titan and be at the paths without having Royal Blood, which is where this power comes from. Because of this he is able to send memories through the paths to previous Attack Titan holders. Which is why Grisha only gets specific memories, and why the Owl also had memories of Mikasa and Armin. This was all Eren’s doing. Grisha or the Owl couldn’t send memories back to previous owners, it’s just that Grisha was receiving memories from the future from Eren which is why he mentioned the ability to see memories of their future inheritors. Ultimately it’s Eren that decides what they see, rather than any Attack Titan being able to simply see the future.

2024-10-12 01:00:26 +0000 UTCRE: How come only Eren can 'use' it? Technically he can't. When he says "this was only possible because you brought me here" he's referring to the fact that Zeke is a Titan with royal blood. Because Zeke brought him into the paths, Eren is now able to 'interact' with the memories of Grisha. At least, that's how I understand it. But the logic of predestination is important here too. I don't think there was ever a 'past' where Grisha didn't kill the Reiss family, because these events are what give him the power in the first place. I suspect there is a satisfactory way to see this whole thing, but spoilers ...

2024-10-12 00:45:37 +0000 UTCTo explain why Eren is "special" relating to the Attack Titan power: He isn't special. It's just the fact that it isn't as "free" as the memories of the past are for the other titans. Other titans, including the Attack Titan, can see memories of the past inheritors usually based on associations and triggering experiences. The Attack Titan can additionally see memories that future inheritors CHOOSE to send back to them. So it's not that all the Attack Titan inheritors could always see everything. Even Eren can't see his own future except through the memories that future Eren has sent back to Grisha. Eren can then remember Grisha seeing those memories, meaning he doesn't actually know any more about the future than what he's already shown Grisha.
