WHEN PREDATORS UNALIVE THEMSELVES - PODCAST #91

Since Dateline NBC's "To Catch a Predator" ended with a bang (and a $105M lawsuit), there have been a few other cases where accused online predators have opted to face the barrel of their gun instead of the legal and social consequences of their actions. Is it worth it?

Omma has a YouTube video " how I caught my own Grandpa" Totally shocking to say the least. Grandpa also took the coward's way out.

I’ve been subbed to Alex on locals for about 2 years. i see most catches live, including the one in the article you read. i never heard about the boxing thing but i’ll definitely be curious to find/see it. the cops are called 99% of the time. in most cases he’ll get a full confession both on camera before the cops arrive and on the cops’ bodycam when they arrive. the 1% of the time that the cops aren’t called, it’s because he didn’t manage to gather anything actionable in that particular state or the predator ended up being severely mentally impaired. his stats are pretty insane as far as number of convictions and number of states with convictions (about 40). and yes it’s true that in a handful of states evidence collected from civilian decoys are inadmissible in court. so in those states, if Alex uses one at all, the decoy is used as a stepping stone to a confrontation and admission of CP instead, resulting in many predators behind bars that would otherwise be on the loose because the state law sucks. sometimes he’ll just show up to their door without the use of a decoy and get them to admit to CP, leading to an arrest. one recent case, the pedo had a CP image as his profile pic, then they tracked him down and got him arrested. DAP on the other hand, they regularly assault predators, which doesn’t help the odds of conviction. Alex jokes around sometimes during the catches but his methods are otherwise very professional and extremely effective from what I’ve seen over the years. And btw the most recent suicide was the cops’ fault. They let him wander back into his house after they pulled up and Alex got him to admit everything on their bodycams. One of the cameramen looked through the window right after and saw the aftermath. The only reason viewers didn’t see it was glare on the window. Anyway, when the cops handle it as they should, the predator is immediately detained after such an admission. Not an hour ago on a livestream, I watched the cops pull up on someone Tommy Fellows (of Colorado Ped Patrol) was talking to and they put him in cuffs faster than I’ve seen in any catch ever. Absolutely no questions asked. 👍
