Here's the first soundtrack for BKI 🤓 (I used Spotify for it this time around but I might make one with YouTube links down the road cuz I know not everyone uses Spotify).
For posts like this I'll break down each song so you guys get a little insight into my thought process for how the songs play out in the story:
1. Coyote - Mako. This song is mostly for the prologue where Norman is in his own mind. I didn't want it to be too cinematic creepy, more ambient and trippy like a lucid dream. This song gives a lot of that energy. I'm not sure if there's an instrumental version of it, but damn I'd love that.
2. Piño - Otto Totland. This song is for those passing scenes when Norman is getting ready for his day. It's subtle, soft, and soothing. I always love when anime movies and shows highlight transitions like that with soft music.
3. Waltz For Lilly - 3nd. This song is a more uptempo transition track (aka background music for random scenes to give them substance). I feel like this would be a great song for a scenic pan of a car ride or something like that.
4. Two Moons - toe. Two Moons has been on my playlist rotation for a very long time, almost 3 years. I love how calm it starts and then it moves into more erratic sounds that still somehow fit together. It flows well with Norman's constant conflicting energies (shy and awkward).
5. å¤ç‹¬ã®ç™ºæ˜Ž - toe. This song is something Norman would like to listen to. He's very into garage-sounding alternative band music. Plus, this would be a great track to capture the scenic scenes of Red Cove, Oregon.
6. Physical - Dua Lipa. I added this track because I think it really sets the mood for Norman summoning Cal. It fits the tension between them as they make their contract.
7. Supernatural (Au5 Remix) - APEK, Stassi, & Au5. Honestly, same as song #6 – this particular track really fits the contract-making scenes of Chapter 1 and the beginning of Chapter 2.
8. War of Hearts (Acoustic Version) - Ruelle. I'll let you guys guess what scene this songis for 😜 Fun Fact: Daryl actually suggested this song to me as an addition to the BKI soundtrack.
9. Chameleon - Mako & Elephante. This song is Cal's anthem. PERIODT.
10. Carousel (Strings Version) - John A. Nilson. THE STRINGS BITCH. Enough said. This song would be used for tender moments between Norman and Cal. Kinda like their relationship's own anime theme.
11. Mid Air - GÃ…EL. Another chill piano song specifically to highlight tense situations or parts that need a good contrast of music to add to the gravity of the situation.
12. Ruin My Life - Zara Larson. This song is specifically for when Norman starts to realize he has real feelings for Cal.
13. Opus 31 - Josh McCausland. I picture this song being used when Norman makes a realization that he wants Cal in his life, and that he'd do anything to make him stay.
14. Rummy Queen - Lance Allen. Who doesn't love a good guitar song? This has good riffs and chords too. LOVE. This would probably be used after some tension to help lighten the mood/ease the conflict resolution.
15. Comfortable (Ruhde Remix) - Steve Void & TELYKast. This song would definitely be used as a setup for a spicy sex scene for Norman and Cal (before true feelings are expressed between them of course).
16. Carousel - John A. Nilson. An alternate form of the strings version to be used for tender moments between Norman and Cal.
17. The Proposal - AK & Mapps. I'd probably use this for a post-sex scene between Norman and Cal. Like right when they wake up, sunshine peaking through the window, tender cuddles and kisses, maybe some breakfast in bed. Yeah ☺ï¸
18. Suite Bergamasque, L. 75: III. Clair de Lune - Claude Debussy & Carol Comune. Okay, Clair de Lune is gorgeous...but this would set up a horror/gore scene with Belphegor and/or Moloch. You have been warned 😆
19. Coyote (Midnight Mix) - Mako. An alternate form of the first song on the soundtrack to be used for moments when Norman struggles with control over his powers/himself.
20. Careful - Paramore. A fiery fight song 😈🔥
I'll be making additional volumes to expand each chapter, but I thought this was a good comprehensive soundtrack for now.
ALSO if you have any suggestions on music you think would be great for the BKI soundtrack PLEASE send them my way ðŸ˜

2020-06-12 20:32:15 +0000 UTCthe truth never set me free / so I did it myself Nice list and I was going to ask if you had heard Coyote (Midnight Mix) but it showed up later in the list. Comfortable makes me think of that delicious tension when you -finally- get down to business with someone new, while secretly hoping one of you is not a serial killer.
