Hey y'all,

ETA has drifted into early April unfortunately. I'm all out of ADHD meds which has made it difficult to focus, and I don't know what the hell is going on with my doctor and pharmacy, but things are moving at an absolutely glacial pace. I wouldn't expect a resupply to arrive for a few more days at the soonest. Unfortunately, the type of medication I'm on come with some intense withdrawal symptoms, so I've spent quite a few days tucked up in bed. Not ideal.

There's not a whole lot I can say progress wise at this stage as everything is unfinished pieces and fragmented like crazy, but I am hopeful that once my medication arrives, I should be able to bring it all together fairly quickly. I'm feeling fairly well rested and recharged, so I'm particularly eager to get stuck back in and get this update finished.

One thing I can say is I did spend a bit of time improving some old code in order to allow Ren'Py to work more efficiently, specifically with how image prediction is handled. I've also experimented with a larger image cache and an extended prediction range in this upcoming build. This will primarily be an experiment and further tweaks and adjustments will be made based on feedback once this next update is out, but what you should experience is smoother sprite appearances and image animations as well as steadier and more consistent performance. A slight drawback is that memory usage will be slightly increased as a consequence - at this stage it's about 100MB~ extra RAM and 100MB extra VRAM. This is small enough that 99% of devices currently capable of playing Sileo should still be, but I expect a few devices who were already right at their limits may see some issues. If need be, these changes can be reverted, but let's see how things go with this update and we'll decide our next move based on that.
