RE: Streaming & Merch

Howdy everyone,

Thanks for your responses to the post asking you guys what you'd like to see, as well as your responses to the merch poll a little while back. Just a small update on where we're at with those things.

Starting with merch, this is on hold until next month at this stage simply because CurryCatz is busy with his food caravan job and there just isn't time to tackle that right now. He's fully dedicated to Sileo from September onwards, so that will be the time we work out what our designs are and what we're going to offer upfront. My loose plan right now is to use a print on demand service to provide a basic inventory of merch which will be available all the time, and then approach items such as plushies individually as limited time releases that will be available for pre-order once we've got everything organized. Stay tuned for more on that.

And on the topic of streaming! I know that was quite a popular suggestion, and I've decided that I'm going to give it a shot! There's no fixed date as yet, but I would like to think this will be sooner rather than later. I've done some basic testing so far and we've got excellent video and audio and I've got a capture card on the way which will allow me to stream everything from the one place. 

The main purpose of these streams will be a chance to interact with you guys in real time, answering questions and talking about Sileo while just generally hanging out and having a good time. I'll be playing video games as a sort of backdrop for these streams which will give us something to keep us entertained as we go. Generally, I play a wide array of stuff, though a lot of it is primarily single player in nature. To give you an idea, if I was streaming today, it would be between FF7:R on PS5 and Doom Eternal's DLC on PC. CurryCatz and I are halfway through a Dark Souls 3 playthrough as well, but we've simply been too busy to continue it for a while - that's something I'd really like to have on stream, though I would not expect CurryCatz to want to be on stream with me (though you never know!), just in the game. Also, I'm on a haitus right now, but if I ever continued playing FFXIV, Kronos and I are on the same server (and CurryCatz might also join if we hassle him enough about it) which gives us another option for having more of the team on the streams. I don't honestly know if Kronos would come on a stream or not, but I get the feeling he'd be a lot less nervous about it than me, so maybe!

At the moment, I plan to hold these streams on Discord. I believe that Discord will be sufficient for our purposes, though I haven't tested it just yet, so this is subject to change. Alternatively, I will likely hold the streams on YouTube instead. I don't think Twitch is viable as they do not allow me to make streams unlisted, so Patreon exclusive stream nights would not be possible. 

Finally, these streams will start off Patreon exclusive in the beginning. If they're popular enough, I'll start doing some public streams as well, though I do expect the Patreon exclusive streams to remain a staple regardless. They'll be available to all tiers, so don't worry about that!

Anyway, once I've got everything sorted on my end and I can be sure everything is going to run smoothly, I'll post a date and time for the first stream! Be warned though, I have never done this before and I definitely will be super nervous! I'm pretty good at faking it, and I have a ~*~voice for showbiz~*~, but even so, I will be shaking in my boots! Hopefully it won't take long to find my groove and grow more comfortable!
