Progress Report!
Added 2021-08-07 06:32:00 +0000 UTCHow do you do, fellow kids?!
I've taken a few days to recover from last months absolute grind of a dev cycle (and by recover I mostly just mean sit there like a vegetable lacking the will to do anything) and today, I'll be making a start on the new content for next months update.
Although that said, it's not to say I haven't done anything since the update. Those of you in our Discord might have spotted one new feature I've already put some time into, being the Jukebox:

That's right, this neat menu not only lets you listen to the entire Sileo soundtrack inside of the game itself, but it gives you links to the artists website to download the song directly!
So anyway, the bare minimum goal for this month is to complete Day 16. On one hand, this should easily be possible. On another, we'll be cutting it a little fine... why? Let me explain.
As you probably know, I quit my day job last month in the interest of my mental health. Considering my options, I decided the best thing for my mental health and most likely for my future was to take the risk and go all in on Sileo. So far, so good. I have managed to organize some extra income that should help in the interim, so as of right now, I'm doing A-OK and hopefully will be for a while yet. There will come a time however when Sileo will need to cover my costs on it's own if I am to continue working full-time on it, so the objective right now is to spend as much time as I can making Sileo as great as possible and hope that it grows like I need it to!
Now as for CurryCatz, he's quit his day job and is running a couple of stalls at some food festivals across his state and his hope is that the money he earns from this plus the money he gets from Sileo will be enough to support him until next years festivals whilst only working on Sileo. This is something he had planned before I threw my own job in, so it's kind of an interesting coincidence when you think about it. These festivals run until the end of this month, if I recall correctly.
So basically what this means is that I have lots of time to put in during August, but CurryCatz is spread a little thinner. Starting September, we should both be able to go completely all in on Sileo, but this month, it'll only be me.
There's also the consideration that Day 16's second half is rather artwork intensive. There's a bunch of different pieces we require for the scene to do what it needs to. CurryCatz seems optimistic that he'll get everything done, but I suppose time will tell. Fingers crossed!
Tai's route will reach almost double the length of Diego's once Day 16 is finished. Yeah, crazy huh? We expect triple by the time the route is finished. The hope is that we'll produce the remaining days of this route much quicker going forward, but I cannot make any promises for this month due to CurryCatz being quite busy. Make no mistake though, we'll be doing everything we can to get Day 16 out on time! And all going well, I might be able to get some of Day 17 out the door this month as well. There is artwork required during the latter half of Day 17 so chances are that won't happen, but some of the early stuff should be doable - of course, that all depends on how Day 16 goes, so again, fingers crossed!
Anyway, time to get started on this new content! Wish me luck!
Oh, and going forward, I'll start tagging Progress Reports like I do for build releases and hi-res artwork. They were originally just intended to be little check-in's, but they've wound up almost becoming a behind the scenes type of thing with some quite interesting information, so going forward, they'll be easier to find!
PS: I've added a couple of new tiers to the Patreon. These are in response to people asking for higher tiers - which is strange, because Patreon lets you give whatever amount you like, but nonetheless, new tiers are now available at higher values! We have nothing new to offer these tiers as yet, but stand by - in time, we'll find something!

In a sense, I did. I've been caught in that cycle of bullshit for far too long. This time, I'm hoping that Sileo can be the catalyst for change. The cycle ends here and all that.

2021-08-07 07:39:04 +0000 UTCHe's actually doing Asian cuisine, and none of it curry! He chose that name on a whim referencing his love for Butter Chicken. I love Butter Chicken too, he's got great taste!
