Progress Report
Added 2021-05-26 01:24:04 +0000 UTCfIt completely slipped my mind to make a post about Day 14 finally, FINALLY being done. But yes, it's true, the longest day in the game and the result of a month's work. Fully written at last. Artwork is still coming together but all going well it'll be done fairly soon.
Which is ironic really, considering Day 14 was never originally intended to be anything more than an in between day. Incidentally, the second longest game in the day, Day 11, was exactly the same way. Both were unplanned new additions to the plot based on inspiration found in the moment that tied neatly in with everything else we wanted to do. Diegos route was originally left more open in the hope that situations like this would carry us through. And they didn't get us anywhere back then, resulting in Tais route containing a far more detailed plan to compensate. And the few times a gap was left? We got lucky. Found inspiration. And that, combined with our boldness in how we've approached this route, had led us down some very interesting paths, doing some very interesting things.
Of course, next on the agenda is to get Day 15 all ready for the June release. The plan hasn't changed - we plan to release approximately a third of Day 15 in this upcoming release, and then HOPEFULLY have Day 15 and 16 completed entirely for the July release. We hoped to be further along in the process by now, but at the end of the day, reaching that high bar of quality is paramount. So far this month , we've reached it.
I'll post another progress report when Day 15 is nearing completion. Right now the scratch version is maybe about 40% done. I expect I will complete that within one longer writing session, and hopefully complete the second pass in the following session.
There's some neat stuff in this update, and we're right on the cusp of some big things in the plot! Day 15 cuts off at the specific point it does because shits about to get real and we want to make sure we have plenty of time to get it perfect. Answers are almost upon us!
