all you need to do is put a float valve in some kind of water trough and hook it up to a water source EDIT: i missed the part where you said without ever getting dirty sorry

I've had a few chickens for about 15 years now. Things I've found: rodents / wild birds like eating the chicken feed and the chickens love scratching around to fill their water tray with dirt. The solution to the first problem is a commercial, metal feeder with a sprung bar that the hen presses on to open the food hatch. I imagine the solution to the second might be to raise the water off the ground more?

I use this for my chicken feeder. https://imgur.com/gallery/XtLrqKx What I am trying to figure out is a better watering system that uses a hose connect and auto fills with out getting dirty. Endless Waterer if you will.
