Mason Jar Initial Release (Latest Files Folder)

Hey guys this is the latest release.
I will be updating these files in a few days with more holes in the float lid and some other features.

But here are the files featured in the video for those who cannot wait.

These files are for you only.

Please do not share the files.

Yours and others Patreon support keeps the channel going and allows me to create niche content and creations like these that the YouTube algorithm (and advertisers) do not appreciate as much as you and I.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the files

Love Hooch

sorry for the spam--ive gone down quite the rabbit hole. Found a better solution: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:461971/makes

Since mason jars can handle pressure anyways, I could see a miniature version (plus a float valve) of the rain barrel being replicated with your mason jars

Hey hoocho! I thinking about how much trouble you had with your siphoning for this project, found this: https://youtu.be/9eBf6_W0vlo?si=y76v0BSTc_BfAHrV You could pair this with a float valve maybe!!

Lauryn Eldridge

To solve the algae problem just add some red or orange food colour to the mix. It works.

You have the designs, now you can conduct the experiment however you like 😊

Mitchell Tomkins

Due to the high levels of Algae in the furthest of daisy-chain the EC measurement would be skewed with Algae feeding from the feed jar rendering the data meaningless. Your experiment needs to be done MINUS Algae to hold meaning. Plus the radical water level changes is not fair to growth comparisons as some plaints will be straining and others not so much - the water needed to be at XX-amount all the time not periodically. Have you considered a wagon-wheel feed method so all jars will be equal at all times and no Algae feeding?

Hooch - have you ever employed this automatic siphon in any hydroponics ? Not sure the application but it seems like such an ingenious ancient technique. https://youtube.com/shorts/zMNElD2TuQQ?si=dEc6LN6zoubFs2QV

Put a dark sock around the jar. I get zero alge if I do this. I can't even get a basil clipping to sprout roots if there is no light protection.

These look great. I've been using the 3d printed bottle top lids in pickle and mason jars by just drilling a hole in the lids and inserting the print.

Do you have a link to the float valve you used?

Ok I looked at the files before the video, I think you really made something here, I imagine growing my green that I could sale in the mason jar. When the plan is ready, you use a simple plastic sandwich bag to seal the mason jar with the ring. I would try the 500 ml but maybe the 250 wide mouth would also work very very well ! No transfer of container to put them in the fridge !

Well damn, my wife saw it and immediately: Where making the move on the 3d printer

Very nice. It might be 2025 before my indoor garden is ready to utilize this but I'm really impressed with what you've been doing. Amazing work!

In the vid you briefly mention/show black-out Mason jars. I find no link or details about these anti-algae jars in vid notes???
