Building Chords - Ch. 3 | Creating Exercises (Playing Over Changes)

In the second part of this mini series, we create some exercises or practice routines focusing on using the 3 lead triads when playing over changes. We'll revisit Little Wing and force ourselves to use as few reference notes as possible, create some simple ways to play every chord in the key in order, but also in 3rds and in 4ths. We'll also do some fun "improv" Power Ups that will force you to think on the fly and see how comfortable you really are with these triads!

Video is spilt into sections, use Youtube chapters to navigate:

1 - Forcing Yourself to Use Just a Few Reference Notes (over "Little Wing")
2 - Running the Chords in a Key in Order
3 - Chords moving up 3rds in the Key - Power Up
4 - Chords moving up 4ths in the Key - Power Up
5 - Chords moving in Perfect 4ths, Maj and Min - Power Ups
