I get the same feeling, too. Everything he's been made to do goes against his moral code. He's not one to kill people, much less in such a violent manner. For all we know, he could be in the same state as Niixa. Forced to watch everything his body is being made to do, but powerless to stop it. He might be resisting for now because his goal is save Niixa from her fate as a werewolf bringer of destruction. That said, this deal has already gone awry because this spirit of vengeance is fully in control, despite him claiming otherwise. Also, Jakkal alluded to Endy being lost or dead once made the deal in one of her descriptions.
Even if Endy does successful recover his body (and suffers no ill-effects from being dead and revived), he's going to find it difficult to live with all the chaos he helped create. And this is if the best case scenario happens and he saves Niixa and restores her normal form. There's a real possibility that he's tricked by his spirit and his idea of saving someone from a horrible fate is to kill them. Voiding Endy's entire reason for accepting the deal.

So, it took me a while to figure out why, but the last few pages have been really bothering me. Not due to the gore, I seen people take one-way trips through the intake of a jet engine without flinching, but rather the implications of what has been happening.
The short of it: Endymion Gaelin will not recover from this.
I'm tired and going to bed, but if anyone asks for an explanation, ask for it in a reply and I will try to get to it...later today, I guess.

You might notice his ears are changing on the last panel as well.

Hmmm. That does explain the need for eating them. I was close with my guess of siphoning energy on the last page.
Some questions I have in mind: What will Endy do once (if) he regains control of himself? Given what appears to be the nature of this group, I would not be surprised that many, if not all, of the Ahki minus the shaman are in the same position Niixa is in right now.
I'm also beginning to wonder if Sisari retrieved the components for her Werewolf Virus from that spirit in particular. It most likely came from this world, given Gruff's remarks about Reklar in general, but wonder what the source might have been.

Bah, not even a disapproving Niixa for that one.

To become a werewolf you must first devour a werewolf. That's how the saying goes, right? I also just noticed the glowing brand on Endy's forehead is gone. I'm guessing the slash in his neck is also gone. I suppose he's healing as he transforms into a werewolf.

So we have corrupted, werewolf-ized Niixa about to meet a corrupted, soon-to-be werewolf-ized Endy (he has fangs, and look at the eyes and ears)?
I actually feel bad for those two Ahki guys now.
