Kitsune Boogaloo Re-Write: Chapter 3

"Gure-Tan! I'm here to wash your back!"

I pause, staring dead ahead at the wall for a moment before glancing back.

o-oh.

Oh wow.

Serafall stands there, a small smile on her face, she doesn't even bother to cover herself, she has let her hair down, everything on display as she places a hand on her hip, a towel loosely grasped in one of her hands.

"S-Serafall?! Why... why are you here?" I pointedly ask with a blank stare as my sole remaining eye not so subtly trails up and down her body.

"Oh, that's a silly question, Gure-tan~ I just said! I'm here to help you wash your back!" Serafall replies with a chipper hum as she crosses her arms under her bust, pushing her breasts upwards slightly, a proud smile appearing on her face as she sees that I am clearly interested in her body. "I noticed you had some troubles getting used to... ah... your arm... so I decided to come and help you!"

"I'm... fine now... my arm works now... you don't need to really... inconvenience yourself." I weakly call out, ears flattening as I look away.

"You finished your arm?!" The woman beams, briefly rising up on the tips of her toes in excitement and falling back down, causing her chest to jiggle. "Show me!"

She kneels at the side of the tub, eyes sparkling.

I lean to the other side, reaching out and down to the floor.

I lift my 'Overture' into view and offer it to her. "Here."

"Woooooah!" She breathes as she looks over the piece of technology.

"Thank you... for getting some materials for me... that made it pretty easy." I mutter under my breath.

"Oh Gure-tan! It's the least I could do!" She smiles brightly. "So what's it do? Is it strong? Can it break rock? Can you shoot it off like a rocket to punch people across the room? Does it have knives inside?!"

"Uhhh-" I briefly process her questions. "Arm, yes, I don't know, no, and not yet."

"COOOOOOOL!" She beams. "Is it water proof?"

"Yes." I nod once. "I made sure."

With that, seeing as how I don't protest she simply slips into the bath beside me, my body stiffening slightly.

The tub nearly overflows with the added person, but the water level instantly drops through some magic fuckery.

"T-This... ah... as you can see from my arm... you don't need to do this for me." I admit weakly.

"But I want to help you!" Serafall pouts she looks at my arm, then to me, then back to my arm. With a flash it vanishes "And- whoops, I accidentally put your arm in my dimensional storage! Oh well, I'll help you in its place!"

"Fine." I huff as I stare dead ahead once more, I'm not about to say that she CAN'T do this.

"Heheh!"  I feel Serafall's breasts smush into my shoulder as she leans forwards and wraps an arm around me. "I knew you'd come around, Nagure~"

"Mhm." I mutely hum.

She leans back and I can feel her hands rub across my back.

I glance downwards into the water, my hand resting in my lap.

"So... Serafall... what happened to the rest of my arm? The original one?"

"…"

"It was destroyed." The girl sighs. "If it wasn't... I could have used a Phoenix tear to reconnect it... but the exorcists threw numerous explosive seals at you, utterly vaporizing everything in roughly a ten-foot radius."

"Oh." I mutter as I look back to the ground.

"If there was a way to get you back your arm, Nagure, believe me... I would do it, but regeneration is basically impossible outside of some rare circumstances." The woman states as she presses her face into the back of my neck.

"I am so sorry, Nagure." The woman whispers.

"Alright." I sigh. "It's fine. Don't worry about it, Serafall. I'll manage. After all I've got my cool new arm now, right?"

She sniffles slightly, I feel her breasts smush fully into my back yet again as she peers over my shoulder. "D-Do you forgive me?"

"I didn't even blame you in the first place... so yes, you are forgiven. Thank you for... taking care of me. for helping me recover. it- it means a lot."

"I've been wondering though..." I meekly whisper. "Why... why do you do all this? Why do you care?"

"As the overseer of this town... I have a responsibility to protect each and every life in this town. But. That day... I failed you. I wasn't able to save you in time and now you'll be forced to live your life maimed and disfigured... I... I have decided that there isn't going to be a second time."

"Oh..." I whisper. "Is that really it?"

"Mhm." She nods once.

"Serafall." I pout turning to stare into her eyes. "Are you prepared to face the consequences if you make me fall in love with you. Are you prepared to take responsibility. Temping me is so... cruel..."

"Gah! Gure-tan! A-Are you saying that you're not in l-love with me already?!" The black haired woman sputters. I can see her face turning a deep red. "U-Uh... here's your arm! I need to go do... devil things!"

She disappears, leaving my prosthetic hanging in the air.

I catch it with a small frown.

Aww...

I was about to lose my virginity...

I attach the arm to my stump, the parts clicking slightly as my fingers twitch and move.

Well.

Let's finish up here and do some reading.

Perhaps me not bedding Serafall then and there is for the best. I doubt a simple level one kitsune could survive having sex with an ultimate class devil.

[Split]

Serafall sits in her office, hands steepled in front of her face. Mind sharpened. Looking over what just happened in perfect clarity.

Post nut clarity, that is.

You see.

Serafall actually has a VERY big fetish for animal eared boys.

But. She tapped out.

She was kind of... on a VERY small level... hoping that something like that would happen when she decided to help out the young kitsune she now is taking care of, but...

She really didn't expect it to move so fast.

So. After spending about an hour with her hand between her legs, she's re-evaluating pretty much everything that has happened this past week.

There's a reason she abandoned her plans...

This poor boy, his world had been shattered. He had a horrible life-altering injury and while he may be... stabilizing... somewhat.

To... do what she did...

She went in there with more or less pure intentions. To help him bathe because he no doubt would have had a few issues- ignoring the tiny internal voice screaming at her to enact all of her fantasies. She's a devil. Sue her-

But...

She can now see how that may have appeared to a hot-blooded teenager.

And while she kind of wishes she stayed.

A larger part knows that doing so would be taking advantage of him. He seeks attachment. Normality. Love.

Entering a sexual relationship with him like that would be just-

The woman shakes her head, a sad smile on her lips.

She's going to love him, care for him, and be the pillar of support he needs in his life. She's going to make sure he can live a normal life and follow whatever passions he might pursue.

If love between them blooms during that time?

So be it. She'll do as the little fox says and take responsibility for it.

[Split]

A quest has been completed!

My ears droop, a long sigh leaving my lips.

'damn it!'

Knowledge is power:

Objective:
Read at least a single book to completion: [x]

Bonus Objectives:
Read 5 books to completion: [x]
Read 10 books to completion: [x]
Read 25 books to completion: [-]

Rewards: 100 Experience

Bonus Rewards: 550 Experience, +1 inherent bonus to any two Knowledge Skills, one item worth up to 250 Gp.

I was trying to finish one final book- a fool's errand as there was no way I could have completed that last bonus objective with the time granted having only just barely managed to reach the minimum of ten even through reading most of the relatively thin books in this library.

But.

These books have given me a little context.

This is a touhou crossover.

Oh well. I'm a youkai.

Most touhou characters- as youkai- are only Racist against Humans. There's no real need for them to get pissy at me as long as I mind my business. I just need to stay away from Reimu who either does her own thing or is a complete youkai slaying psychopath depending on the media in question.

Beyond the obviousness of touhou, I really haven't discovered that much else.

Nothing really screams 'hey, this doesn't exist in dxd'.

Maybe camp half blood from Percy Jackson exists?

I never read the books so I wouldn't know.

Man. I realize now that I missed quite a lot in my past life.

Naruto. Bleach. Harry Potter. Percy Jackson.

Did see one piece though... through, ironically enough, a piracy website.

FUCK. I'm not going to be able to see how that ends.

The flaws of being in a predominantly Christian household, I suppose. Turning their nose up at 'the work of the devil' and 'pagan gods'.

Maybe I should start an anime collection here?

My main issue in my last life was... when I was older I just felt as if I had no time to just... consume new media.

Like there was a chain around my neck that kept dragging me away the very moment I sat down to read or watch anything.

I run a hand through my hair- my non-mechanical one. I need to figure out a way to stop my hair getting caught in the joints- closing the book that I was reading.

Anyways...

I leveled up!

Yippee! Now I'm going to go beg Serafall for a gun!

[Split]

Pov: elsewhere

"You would be... correct." The Kyuubi woman announces. "It is something of great importance."

"Oh?" The Oni mutters as she slowly walks to the table, brushing a hand to straighten her pink robe and kneeling down, taking a seat across from the other youkai woman. She snags a ball of mochi off the table, eating it in one bite. "What is it?"

"It is something that could affect the four youkai factions." Yasaka sighs. "Thank you for coming to meet me on such short notice, Kasen."

"Psssh." The Oni huffs while shrugging, causing the chains connected to her arm bands to jingle. "Think nothing of it. It's the least I could do."

The fox woman slowly lays a wrapped object upon the table causing the expression on the Oni woman's face to fall slightly. "Is that-"

A certain sickening magical aura permeates off the object as the nine tailed Youkai unwraps it.

"A Youkai slaying weapon." Kasen breathes, teeth gritting. "Where did you get this?!"

The oni's eyes stray to her right arm, which aches and tingles, her hand shakes. the blade that once cleaved her limb from her body was a similar blade... albeit much stronger.

She never quite forgot the pain of losing her arm... yet it was a clean cut and was reattached swiftly... at least after the taint was removed from it... even now this sword's mere presence is prickling over her shoulder, seemingly tracing a line which was once cut.

"This is the reason I called you here. Eight exorcists from the Kushihashi clan hunted down a kitsune and brutalized him... he lost his right arm and his right eye. The worst part is, that he only fought back when they have him no choice. They hunted down a peaceful youkai with youkai slaying weapons. A male kitsune at that."

Killing intent begins radiating from the Oni as she glares down at the blade. "I see. And what of these clan members?"

"Four were killed by the outrage of the Sitri Devil who is the overseer in Kuoh town, and the remaining four are being held by the devils as they are in a political bind between the youkai faction and the five principal clans." Yasaka dully explains. "They are the ones who saved the kitsune's life, but they were just slightly too late to save his arm and eye."

"I see... I will certainly have a word about this to Yukari. An incident of this scale might actually cause her to stop being such a shut in."

"I had noticed that she hasn't been public recently." The kitsune woman frowns.

"Japanese Melodramas" the Oni sighs as she slowly stands. "As much as I would like to stay and have that bottle of sake, I really should go tell Yukari about..."

Her gaze stray to the sword as she gives it a disgusted look. "That... Besides... the boy needs a new eye and arm, doesn't he?"

"Not quite for the arm. when I saw him last he was building a viable prosthetic out of mundane toasters and microwaves." The kitsune dryly huffs. "Since I forced that devil to get him actual materials to work with, he might already have something that's better than the old arm... but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask him if he'd rather have his real arm back."

"A smart kit, hah?" The oni tilts her head. "Don't tell me, you're already trying to set up little Kunou with him, aren't you?"

"N-No!" The fox looks away, causing the pink haired woman's smile to grow.

Kasen rises to her feet, wordlessly snagging the bottle of Sake off the table and removing the cork. "Well! I'm off!"

She pauses, a thoughtful look appearing on her face before she can drink the entire gourd in a few ravenous gulps.

"Actually..." The oni begins as she reaches out and grabs the blade, causing it to disappear as she stores it with spatial magic. "I may need this to convince Yukari to stop being lazy."

The kitsune nods once. "Yes, please take it. We certainly have no use for it. I was planning on having it destroyed like the other seven after you had taken a look at it."

"I'll destroy it later." The pink haired woman nods.

"It was a pleasure to see you again, Kasen." The kitsune woman smiles.

"And it was a pleasure to see you again, Yasaka. The northern and western Youkai factions should really hang out more." The Oni smiles.

Her expression becomes slightly more strained. "You should really talk to your sister."

The Kitsune's expression hardens instantly, but she doesn't say anything.

"…"

"Right." Kasen sighs, shoulders slumping as she turns and walks away. "Goodbye Yasaka"

Pov: elsewhere

An elderly man walks through a peaceful little garden, pink Sakura trees gently rain their petals on the stone walkway.

"Sir!" A much younger man quickly rushes over.

The elder glances over, a small frown on his lips. "Yes? What is it Kayo? What has worried you so?"

"It's... It's still alive."

"What?!" The elderly man snaps.

Around a month ago something... horrible happened.

The stone containing Tama No Mae cracked in half.

A horrible omen, even if the shattering of the stone seemed to slay the ancient youkai and disperse her energy.

There was a slight issue, however.

A fox within the clan's grounds... it absorbed this filthy youki energy transforming from mere animal... to beast.

A kitsune.

One who was able to take on a human guise while merely having just one tail.

For such an ancient and dignified lineage like the Kushihashi Clan, traditions and legends are passed down from father to son. As it has for thousands of years... and as it will continue to do so for thousands more.

There were tales of a one-tailed kitsune once before...

twice, in fact.

Both of them became nine-tailed foxes. Abominations of the highest order.

The principal clans already have a serious power imbalance with the likes of the youkai.

It is genuinely painful to say, but they are... disadvantaged when it comes to the youkai factions.

Frankly, they are lucky the youkai in Japan have split into four factions. The north. South. East. And West.

If they were unified, without the friction that having differing opinions grants... he has no idea what those animals could accomplish.

They don't need a further Kyubi added to the mix.

This boy must die before he can reach his full potential.

He had originally sent out eight of his own.

The worst, yet more than enough to slay it with the tools he provided.

It was his plan... to cut them off... to claim them as rogue once they completed this assignment, but those fools couldn't even kill a single low class Youkai?!

Disgusting how far his once mighty clan has fallen.

"What do we do, honored elder?" The messanger quickly speaks.

the youkai have not done anything in retribution so far...

Which means that they still don't know about this dirty fox.

They still have time.

"How. How did he live?"

"He ran into a town with a devil overseer and they took pity on him, slaying the clan members pursuing him." The young man informs. "It is the town of that devil, Serafall Sitri."

"The Sitri?!" The man booms.

That woman is perhaps an even greater stain on this glorious country.

A foreign devil of a pagan pantheon. Tainting the soil of Japan.

The old man pauses.

Perhaps... this could be a good thing.

The death of a kitsune within the territory of someone so powerful...

Well...

What better way to kill your enemies than to have them at each other's throats.

The youkai faction has already lashed out at the underworld's devils once before.

All they need... Is just one tiny push.

And he believes he knows just what might be able to distract the Sitri devil long enough for his men to finish the job.

[Split]

A blonde woman lounges on a large couch in a purple gown, practically sinking into the plush cushions. The room is nearly pitch black, her face illuminated by a large television on the other side of the room.

A mob cap rests on her head, dark circles under her eyes which are shut, the woman quietly listening to the tv as she tries to nap.

She hadn't moved in over three weeks now.

"But the truth is... the truth is that you are the baby's father!"

Cheesy Dramatic noise

"What?! That’s- no- that's impossible!"

Dramatic Noise

"But I am in love with your sister! I would have never cheated on her! How dare you lie to me!"

"But that is the thing, my love, we are cursed by a witch to swap appearances every twenty four hours!"

"-ri"

The blonde cracks open an eye as she glares at the tv.

"NOOOOOOOO!"

What a boring twist. She predicted that hours ago.

"-ari!"

She sits up slightly rubbing her eyes as she blearily looks around the room, idly wondering what that noise was.

Eh. If someone doesn't come to get her it isn't important.

"My love! I am sorry! Please, help me take care of our child!"

"You have betrayed my trust; you have sullied my honor... I... cannot make this right. Goodbye Oriana."

"The pain inflicted to Sumuru's heart was immense. He was unable to handle the newfound weight upon his consciousness."

"I am sorry, world. Why must life be so cruel to those who merely want to live? Goodbye Sirame. I hope that this will allow me to repent... may we meet again... in the otherworld..."

"-kari!"

The blonde woman in a mob cap ignores the noise and the thud that shakes her wall, now reinvested back in the show.

"But before Sumuru could end his life... a voice called out! The voice of his late mother."

"Sumuru... poor Sumuru..."

"M-Mother?!"

The screen fades to black causing the extremely powerful youkai to silently curse the existence of commercials.

It appears to be some sort of fast food commercial.

Damn. Now she wants food.

This is a conundrum.

CRASH

The door to her left is kicked off its hinges, it soars across the room and violently smashes into the wall across from where it was resting, the wood splintering and breaking as it creates a large dent in the plaster wall.

"YUKARI!" A voice snarls as a sword fly through the air, it sinks into the large Tv up to the hilt, sending sparks cascading across the floor as the Tv's screen flickers to black. Chzzzz

"Nooooo!" The blonde woman weakly groans. "I was watching that!"

"I have been trying to get your attention for the past THIRTY minutes!" The pink haired woman booms as she stomps inside.

"What is it?" The blonde deadpans. "Didn't you and Okina say you were able to take care of everything?! What could possibly need my attent-"

The woman pauses abruptly, looking over to the tv, particularly the sword that is stuck inside of it.

A sickening aura is produced from the sword. "A youkai slaying sword... where did you get that? I thought most of them had been destroyed."

"That is what we needed to talk about." The pink haired Oni announces. "We believe the principal clans have been making more. Or they never followed through on the treaty we signed all those years ago."

Oh. That is quite an issue.

Damn it! She just wanted to nap a little bit longer! Putting the fear of Youkai into the entire underworld the year before last when she whisked away a few devil houses took a lot of effort.

Effort to get out of bed, that is. The task itself was fairly simple, just mentally draining.

But back then, it was worth it. They made little Chen cry... and that was more than enough to get her to maim hundreds of devils.

The woman rubs her temples as she slowly stands. "Alright, Alright. I'm up."

[Split]

You know... leveling up is... interesting.

It also takes a VERY long time as only now have I had the opportunity to look through the prestige classes and feats that have been granted to me from DXD.

Actually, considering this is a crossover it may even alert me of some other potential bullshit I'll have to combat.

Haven't found anything yet, though.

But what I HAVE found is quite interesting!

There are no 'base classes', but... it seems that there are prestige classes. Oh! And feats!

'Let's see here'

The screen shifts slightly, I mentally tap in a word, altering the tags to only show 'feats'. Let's sort them by level requirement as well.

Alright! Here's one!

The window expands as I gaze to the first 'Youkai' feat I'd be able to get.

Senjutsu:
Prerequisite: (Yokai level 3) otherwise, Sense Motive 10 ranks, Skill Focus 'Sense Motive', 'Ki pool' class feature, 'Zen' Class Feature, 'Diamond Body' Class Feature.

Benefit:
You are capable of feeling your own life energy and detecting the life energy of others, granting you the supernatural 'Life Sense' ability. Allowing you to see any living creature within 60 feet even through walls or through effects such as illusions.
Additionally, you gain the special ability to recharge your Ki pool at high speeds, for every 10 rounds you spend meditating, you replenish 1 'Ki Point' to your 'Ki Pool'.
Note: the 'Life Sense' special quality only applies in the direction you are looking. It is not a full 360 degree range of vision.

Special: If you are a Yokai who has taken this feat, you are given a 'Ki Pool' as if you were a monk of your level, Gain the 'Improved Unarmed Strike' feat for free, Deal unarmed damage as if you were a monk, and the Fast Movement Class Feature. If you are naturally a monk, this Ki pool stacks with your Monk's ki pool (doubling your original capacity) and you are treated as a monk of 3 levels higher than your actual level for the previously mentioned feature.

Note: if you are a youkai Senjutsu abilities require you to be within Yokai form, however, there are some notable exceptions to this rule such as this base feat.

h-huh?

I...

I can gain what's basically an entire class through picking a single feat?

That-

Considering how powerful this feat is... yeah, it was also worth the drawback I had taken for it.

Who cares if in exchange I can't get magic for five levels? With a single feat I got roughly the equivalent and have the potential to unlock DOZENS of more powerful abilities.

This feat is a prerequisite for Touki- if you want to unlock it at a reasonable level and not need your physical stats ALL be thirty, ironically enough I'm not that far off, then Lesser Youjutsu, Senjutsu Healing, Fox Fire.

There's A LOT.

Plus, wow there's a lot of prestige classes. High Class Devil, Ultimate Class Devil, Super Class Devil- those each require the previous, then there's things like 'Association Wizard' or 'Chosen of Excalibur', and even 'Kyuubi'.

That last one is a little annoying to get. It requires you to be at least level twenty with a bunch of Senjutsu feats.

There's also a prestige class for each of the Longinus, one for Sacred Gear wielders in general, Then there's... Oho? Youkai Sage? That one sounds pretty interesting... and it's a prerequisite for-

Student of the Gap?

But-

That-

Boundary... manipulation?

Huh... I hadn't imagined that I'd... be able to unlock that power...

Wow.

That's a lot of prerequisites.

Comments

What a delightful and fascinating chapter. And being the Fox that absorbed Tamamo's essence makes total sense to cause the Clan to go Apeshit.

Verdauga

Serafall is one of the best waifu! Well done
