Dastardly Desires (Chapter 26)

"Where is Xander Welsh now?"

I look to the news article, letting out a quiet huff. "Damn paparazzi."

"It has been two weeks since a massive discovery has shaken the world at large. Fossil Pokemon never seen before. A new type AND a new method of evolution? All of this discovered by just two people. Xander Welsh, and his partner, Courtney Kate."

"But, since their last appearance on Unova at Night, they have completely disappeared! No further interviews, no appearances, not even reply to any of our attempts to reach out for public comment nor confirmation of their plans going forwards!"

My eyes skim the rest of the article, as a sigh leaves my lips.

Courtney, who is sat next to me, briefly grabs and slightly twists my hand so she can also read some of the article from my phone.

"Mn... they keep saying Courtney... Kate..." She grumbles.

"Can't people just leave us alone for like... two weeks?" I question under my breath.

"Mn." The pink haired girl agrees, her head resting on my shoulder.

I lay the phone down, gently leaning my head atop the girl's as my arm wraps around her waist.

"Sir." Jarvis speaks, the droning Tv being lightly muted by his voice. "You have a meeting with Professor Oak in two hours. You wished for me to remind you of this fact."

"Ah..." I mutter, looking to Courtney. "We should probably get ready, then."

She looks over, a blush on her face. "Yes. And yes, I would."

"Would-"

"..."

"Alright then." I idly note her knowing the question before I even asked it and rise to my feet. Be it her psychic foresight or her just simply predicting me I'm unsure. I turn and offer her a hand which she takes.

We both walk to my room and enter the bathroom, slowly disrobing. I find my eyes trailing her figure for a moment as I turn on the shower.

After that we both step in.

"..."

"We both know how this is going to go. So should we just cut right to the chase or at least try to get clean first?" I ponder aloud.

"Once before... once after." The emotionally muted girl deadpans.

[Split]

I step through a twisting portal, suitcase in hand, Courtney walks beside me, a gentle smile on her lips.

She's quite... relaxed... we both are after our time in the shower.

Zinnia is... somewhere. Giving her teleportation was probably a mistake as she can just wander off now.

I should really get her a phone of some sort merely so I can put a tracker on it.

I adjust my lab coat that's strewn around my shoulders as Loki leaps through the portal behind me, he lands, body poofing up slightly as he sniffs the air.

"Eevoy!" He cheers, running in circles briefly as Courtney and I walk forwards, eventually scampering up behind us and falling into place between us.

We continue out, making out way into Pallet town, eyes straying towards the large building up on the hill in the distance.

We go mostly unnoticed, well, as unnoticed as a pair of teens with a black eevee can be, the points and gasps seem to inflate the little fox's ego more and more as we reach the lab.

I push the doors open, entering a small waiting area. A girl sits in a desk, looking quite bored.

She perks up after seeing us, looking between us. "Uh... may I help you?"

"We have an appointment with Professor Oak." I explain as I check my phone. "In about... ten minutes."

Loki leaps on the table, having cleared the length of the room in the short few seconds I stopped looking at him..

"Eevee!" He proclaims loudly.

"Loki. Off the table." I deadpan before grumbling under my breath, watching as he hops down. "Little shit."

"Wait... You- You're professor Welsh and Kate, right?!" The girl's eyes sparkle with childish wonder. She appears to be about sixteen or seventeen, roughly the age we were before we spent nearly two years in the past.

"She prefers 'Professor Courtney'." I correct as I step forwards. "But yes."

"Oh! Please right this way, Gramps told me to send you in as soon as you got here! Please follow me. I'll take you to him."

We follow the bubbly girl deeper into the lab, eventually coming to a large room.

Sunlight bleeds through a massive window up above, a sofa sits perpendicular with a desk.

There are large computers, vats of liquid of unknown origin, and noticeably a man in a lab coat with sandy blond-ish grey hair speaking to a woman with pink hair and wearing a nurse uniform.

Ah. A nurse joy.

He turns, hearing us enter. "Ah! Wonderful! It's truly great to meet you both face to face."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Professor Oak." I smile.

"Please, we're both professors. You may call me Samuel."

"Oh, in that case, please call me Xander."

"Mn... Courtney." The pink-haired girl supplies.

"I am glad that you have also joined us today, Miss Joy. Some of these pokemon I brought back weren't... really in the best of health when I caught them."

"EEVOY!" Loki cheers.

"Yes, he ensured that." I sigh, at the little fox.

"I am glad to be here. I'm interested to take a look at pokemon of the past. My team has been chosen for disabling rowdy pokemon and for treating debilitating injuries. With me here today you don't need to worry at all."

"Thank you." I smile, eyes straying to Oak. "Now, shall we begin?"

"Before that." The professor in front of us begins. "May I take a look at your eevee?"

"Oh, of course." I agree easily. "Loki's is like... one of the main reasons we survived our little... temporal adventure.

"Loki." I gesture forwards, causing the little fox to bounce forwards.

"Oh, and be careful, he likes to jump at faces." I deadpan suddenly as I can see the fox wiggle slightly, gazing up at the old man.

"Oh?" The old man blinks, looking down at the fox... that promptly launches himself up at Professor Oak like a missile.

"OH!" He barely catches the fox before it can latch onto his face. "Oh my, quite the energetic little thing, isn't he?"

"That's... one word for it, I suppose." I huff.

"His coat is so full and silky, he's in considerably good health. Plus his color... Melanistic I think you called it?"

"Oh right. I did write that." I mutter under my breath. "Yes, he is. If you were to shave him- like I threaten to do a lot- you would see that he's a solid pitch black unlike a normal Eevee which has pinkish skin, maybe with some black splotches here and there."

"I see. But he can freely evolve between his forms, correct?"

"He can. His ability is unique among Eevee." I nod slowly. "He can choose which evolution he wants to be at any point in time, being able to freely go back to his Eevee form after evolving yet retaining his higher forms to swap to at his own whims."

"Ah. I can see how type advantages would help you considerably." Professor Oak nods as he sits the fox back down onto the floor. "I've personally never heard of such an ability. I can't even begin to fathom how such a thing is even possible."

"Some pokemon tend to have abilities that go far beyond what would normally be expected... Huge power is a more common example. Theoretically any pokemon could get Huge Power, a small quirk where their muscles are highly dense. It's just a lot more common in certain species of pokemon in which the enhanced strength isn't that... worldshaking. Azuril tend to be more suited for special attacks and durability, not physical stength, so the increase to battle ability isn't as noticable as it would be for a pokemon like Slaking."

"Hm yes. I see."

"Loki here seems to have a heavily mutated variant of the 'Protean' ability, which is probably only possible due to Eevee's naturally high affinities for most pokemon types." I continue.

"Hm. So... these strange... mutated abilities." Professor Oak ponders. "I can see how they'd make a pokemon far stronger than you'd traditionally see. In a way... it's kind of like the King Gene. Huge Power wouldn't necessarily be comparable... however... have you heard of Meditite?"

"Meditite?" I echo. "The Psychic-fighting type from Hoenn, right?"

"Yes. They have an ability called Pure Power, which, as the name implies is similar to Huge Power... yet it functions completely differently. Yet even still... it rivals the improvements Huge Power gives to Azuril and the rare Bunnelby."

"Huh." I mutter. "That is... a thought. What if a Meditite is born with Huge Power. That sounds kind of scary. 'Super Abilities'... or perhaps 'Mega Abilities'? But on the topic of huge power... why don't we take a look at the bigger stronger ancestors of our modern day pokemon."

"Ah! Of course!" The man beams. "Please follow me I've prepared a room."

We all follow along after the professor coming to a concrete room that has a desk and numerous medical supplies.

"So. What shall we be recording first?" The man turns.

"Let's start with the ones under control. Loki. Prismeon."

He begins glowing brightly, body lengthening and growing.

With a flash of light, he stands within his new form, looking proud.

Professor Oak looks like a kid in a candy store, eyes wide, a low 'oooh' leaving his lips.

"Ah! Prismeon... yes I see! It's even more stunning in person."

He steps over to the table and-

Oh hey, it's one of the scanners I made... Devon Corportation must finally be getting around to selling them. Or at the very least gave a prototype to Professor oak for him to combine with the Pokedex.

He points it at the fox- who is now more the size of a German Shepard.

"Prismee~" Loki huffs, gazing over at the man, the sclera of his eyes flashing many colors before settling on a negative blueish grey.

"Let's see here." Professor Oak mutters as he pushes a few buttons. "Oh my! All of your pokemon's abilities are forty seven hundred percent higher than the average Flareon!"

"Loki is a specimen in and of himself." I nod slowly. "Would it be better if I had him turn into a Flareon so you could get a baseline?"

"Ah yes, we seem to have gotten ahead of ourselves." The man whispers as Loki is quickly replaced by his typical black flareon form.

"Twelve hundred..." The man whispers. "I've seen numbers like this before from one of Johto's Elite Four. Karen. She has an Umbreon. It was roughly this much better than the average of the few hundred Umbreon that was scanned and added to the system... to have a form nearly four times that. That's incredible. To think an Eevee could grow so powerful."

"Now, his ability. Does it go through any changes upon his evolution? Frankly I am unsure if such an evolution is possible in all Eevee or if yours is just particularly special."

"Uh, there's one change. Loki. Can you low-power water-gun the wall over there? Go with... bug."

A bright yellowish green stream of liquid shoots from his mouth, striking the far wall and splashing over it. The concrete seems lightly washed away in some places, like when you put something slightly too hot onto Styrofoam.

"What- was that what I think It was?!"

"Yes. He can change his move's elements on the fly." I nod slowly. "However, much like you said I'm unsure if that's Prismeon's natural ability or just a Loki Original."

"That sort of ability- that's incredible! The sheer versatility you could have with such a pokemon on your team. It's astounding!"

I let out a long sigh, gazing at the Prismeon as he puffs up, head arrogantly tilting back. "He's going to be absolutely unbearable when we get home."

I watch as he looks over the eevee with reverence, a bright smile on his face.

"There's a slight limitation with that ability, though... the attacks with a changed element is about a fourth weaker than the non-changed move. It seems like a large portion of the original power is used up to facilitate the change in element. But it allows us some interesting potential moves such as a lightning type blizzard or dragon-type hyper beam... in fact, reasonably it may be possible to TEACH these move variants."

"I would be honored if you would consider my help in testing this! Now. It truly pains me to say this as I feel like I could do this all day, but we should truly check your ancient pokemon."

"Yes. Alright." I nod slowly. "I've more or less grouped up the pokemon for future meetings. This first batch of eleven has many of the ones which we have actually named... as I did make a note to mark their pokeballs. In each set I have a few 'known' pokemon... the fossil pokemon previously discovered, and the remainder being 'new'. After this, though? We'll mostly be going in blind. Some pokemon could be horribly injured, others may try to attack us immediately."

"In this batch, I have Indomite, the one I showed during the meeting, Velocidgey, Kecleotauros, Aerodactyl, Omanyte, Kabuto, a regional variant of Aerodactyl, something I hatefully call the 'face-eating little bastard', then Protodile, Bagrunt, and finally an ancient pre-evolution for Cyclizar we have called 'Koridile'."

"Of the group, the Aerodactyl has injuries, a broken wing and the... unnamed face eating little bastard was repeatedly bludgeoned with a rock so it probably has a few broken bones." I note, face showing no emotion other than brief exhaustion that bleeds away.

"Let's start with the least violent." I mutter as I reach down to my hip.

With a flash, a small white dinosaur appears in the middle of the room.

"This is Terry. My Indomite."

"Indomite?" Professor Oak's face lights up. "I see. This is the youngest correct? Oh my. It's only been a few weeks and he's already looking around... analyzing... thinking deeply."

"From what I've seen, he is by far the smartest of the pokemon we've brought back. It's not that the others are stupid, it's more just... a primal intellect. Koraidon, the evolution to Koridile showed similar." I begin. "He is dual typed, dragon-dark. With the abilities Protean, Strong Jaw, and Color Change."

"Three abilities?" Oak turns, eyebrows raising slightly.

"A fair portion of the bipedal carnivorous pokemon had Strong Jaw at the very least. A few pokemon even had Huge Power. Truly showcasing that raw primal vigor."'

"You said its name was Indomite, correct? Do you have any ideas for the names of its future forms if it evolves?"

"I'd imagine he'll evolve." I observe after a moment. "But yes, I gave his species that name in preparation for that. Indomite become Invipeur then Indomirant. The middle one can be cut out if it's merely a two-stage pokemon."

"Ah. Indomirant as Dominant I see, a good name. Powerful." The man nods as he writes something down.

I watch Terry sniff the air and slowly waddle around, eventually coming to a stop beside me, gazing upwards.

He steps around me, peering suspiciously out from behind my leg at the two newcomers.

I reach down and gently stroke his head, causing him to look up and lean into my touch.

I'll admit, I'm not very well-versed in the types of tests Professor Oak has new pokemon do. Which is why I accepted his offer to come down here.

Learn all I can from 'The Pokemon Professor' before getting into contact with Professor Birch to ask about the Habitats.

Out of all of the professors he is probably the one we have had the most contact with as he constantly sends us messages and calls for clarifications with the habitats he is making.

Anyways, this...

Will probably take a while.

[Split]

I gaze through a microscope, a faint frown on my lips.

A portal opens behind me.

"I LIIIIIIVE!" Zinnia proclaims loudly as she struts through, coming to a stop behind me, a bright grin on her face.

"Oh. Welcome back." I hum without looking up. "Where were you?"

She had been gone for about two weeks.

"I took a hop back to Hoenn." She admits.

Her lips tug downwards. "I... went back home for a bit... dug around the volcanic rock."

Her face is a little melancholic. "I really seem to be the last one."

"In Kalos... one of their Elite four is a dragon type trainer... Drasna Draconid."

"Drasna?" The girl echoes. "I... don't remember anyone of that name."

"Kalos is pretty far from Hoenn." I shrug.  "Maybe she left on an adventure and just hadn't found the time to come back. She seems quite old too. Mid to late forties possibly? I'm just guessing because she does that thing most women do where they're all 'it's rude to ask a lady their age' whenever it comes up. So even if she was from your tribe, she wasn't in your generation."

"I... I'll go see her... one day." The girl decides. But not yet. I'm tired and right now all I want is to for you to fuck these sad feelings out of me. Can you handle that?"

"Get a shower." I snort. "I'll finish up here."

[Split]

I lay in bed, arm wrapped around Zinna's shoulders, her head rests on me, her chest slowly raising and falling.

"So." I eventually break the silence.  "Are you... alright?"

One of her red eyes crack open.

"Really?" She questions.

"What?" I ask.

"You bend me over the nearest object, absolutely ravage me, leave me sore, aching, and with a womb full of cum, and now you ask 'you good'? Isn't that something you should have asked before all that?"

"You're not really the type to talk about feelings." I point out.

"And what makes you think I'd want to talk about them after some backbreaking super hot breeding sex?" She raises an eyebrow.

"Beeeecause it mellows you out a bit?" I suggest.

She's briefly silent, eyes dancing over my face. I can feel her grip around me tighten somewhat.

"It..." She tries before quieting down again.

"It hurts." She admits.

"It's been about two and a half years now if you consider our little adventure. And- and I can still barely comprehend it... all those people... all of my friends... m-my family..."

"Gone." She whispers. "In an instant."

She shakes slightly, I can see her grit her teeth. "And- and nobody seems to care!"

"No news websites even mentioned it... no pokemon rangers came to check... it's just... like the village never even existed."

She looks defeated, tears prickling in her eyes.

"A-At least I have you... and her..." Zinnia smiles weakly. "I-If... my mom was here... I think she'd like you, Xander."

"You'll always have me on your side." I whisper, hand rubbing the back of her head as her head rests in the crook in my neck.

"My mom..." Zinnia begins quietly. "Would also be begging us about when we were having kids... she really wanted to be a grandmother."

"And she will be. After Grand Meteor Delta." I kiss the girl's forehead.

The door slides open as Courtney appears.

"Ugh. Pinky." Zinnia scoffs.

"Savage." Courtney shoots back almost instantly as she takes off her shirt.

Her sweatpants and panties swiftly follow as she walks over to the bed and slips under the blankets on my other side.

I turn slightly so I can wrap an arm around both of them.

"How's the habitats?" I question.

"Birch is very good at his job." She notes. "I could barely tell a difference."

I can feel her gaze pass over my chest. She stares at Zinnia for a long moment, before tilting her head back arrogantly and letting out a 'heh'. A smug smirk on her face, an abnormality as she is normally so expressionless.

"what do you mean by that smirk you little bitch!" Zinnia growls.

"We had sex eighteen times the past two weeks." Courtney smirks. "I'm ahead of you."

"ALRIGHT! THAT'S IT!" Zinna snarls, flinging the blankets aside as she sits up. "Xander I hope you're prepared because I am going to WRING. YOU. DRY."

"..."

"Yeah, okay." I huff.

[Split]

Jeez extremis is kind of picky.

I've spent three months tinkering with it and I... sort of feel like I'm going in circles.

I figured out a way for it to function on pokemon. The issue is that for each pokemon I need to specifically alter the Extremis Virus. Extremis for a Charizard won't work on a Blastoise and all that.

Oh... a few Nidoran on the island went nuclear. That was... interesting.

The high heat sort of messed with their poison making it a bit weaker than it would ordinarily be.

But I mean... they undoubtedly gained the fire type during that time. I saw a Nidorino kick the shit out of a Nidoking... then blow up killing the both of them. That was kind of cool.

'Well... if Extremis is more effective in fire types... that Charizard of Courtney's is going to be CRAZY... when I figure out how to master extremis at least.'

I kind of forgot that Extremis is like... a superior super soldier serum.

I thought it was just the healing and the heat. But it also enhances physical strength to incredible heights.

Onto other projects, I need to see about splicing some of my own DNA... beyond the 'Huge Power' and 'Regenerator' thing.

I picked up some DNA from a psychic recently, planning to either clone them or splice their DNA with my own.

Reasonably if I was a psychic even half as good as they originally were... I'd be able to easily fight on par with- if not easily surpass- most psychic-type pokemon. Hell, I'd probably be able to juggle skyscrapers with relative ease even if I unlocked a meager ten percent of their power.

Frankly, I'm swamped with projects.

Extremis, Psychic, Regenerator, Huge Power AND pure power, thank you Professor Oak.

I haven't even begun to take even a single look at swapping the 'type' of Extremis.

Man. I wish that when we got stuck in the past Celebi warped over and transported my set-up back to the past for me. Then I could have made actual progress and I wouldn't have gotten so rusty.

I mean, really. I needed like three tries to get the trait I wanted to bind to that egg of Zinnia's new Bagrunt.

I've made no real progress beyond securing a ditto to 'breed' with some of the ancient pokemon... which I am actually doing on the side.

It's a lot easier to explain away my gene-modding if there's ACTUAL breeding going on.

So far that ditto's produced a single Bagrunt egg, of which I quietly disposed of and replaced with Zinnia's. I think it's about to have another. Those of which are to be handed over to Professor Elm- who is working in conjunction with Birch.

Zinna's ready to claim the discovery of the 'Thunder Dragon', making sure to explore far off locations and saying she 'grabbed an egg' which is the complete truth... as I had an egg placed on the island that she could find.

I let out a quiet sigh, stepping away from the microscope.

'you know... maybe I should play more into the 'mad science' routine... why don't I just start mixing shit, find someone who REALLY pisses me off, inject it, then see if they die.'

Maybe I should see if the 'Adaptability' ability does anything.

Gah! It's just so much woooork.

why can't this be easier?!

Comments

Also I'm not trying to be rude I'm just wondering if this was important because it felt important to me

Goblin

Rereading and found this, are we going to just forget about this? "Xander... a bunch of men broke into your room and slit your wrists." She eventually speaks.  I freeze. "Wh- huh?!"  "You didn't know?"  "Well, I'm sorry, but my memories of before I woke up in a bathtub of my own blood have been fragmented at best and utterly absent at worst."  "That... is typically a result of excessive dream-eating." The pink haired girl continues.

That last comment could lead to problems. On the off chance it doesn't kill the annoying person, he will have just made them stronger...and a witness to what he is doing.

Love this story glad it got an update after so long

He makes a good point with the whole. “Just inject some random pain in the ass with it and see if they survive” seems like a good plan, lots of evil dirtbags to experiment on if you go looking.
