Rwby: Eye of the Beholder: (Chapter 4)

"And those are the basics." Summer finishes. "You picked it up really quickly, Noctus, I'm really impressed!"

"Thank you, Mrs. Rose." I nod slowly. "Thank you for taking the time to teach me how to use my Silver Eyes."

"it's the least I could do!" She smiles warmly.

"U-Um..." Ruby quietly begins, looking at the floor and touching her fingertips together. "Can... Can I see your weapon? I-I mean... l-like your combat weapon- I-I DON'T M-MEAN THAT AS AN INUENDO! n-not as an inuendo- it- it's just- you're going to be a huntsman, right? Y-You HAVE to have a weapon... you're... not like one of those wizard types who rely on only magic, right? N-not that it's necessarily a bad thing, it's just- Thats- that's dangerous! We- we're fighting things all the time and you'd be completely defenseless w-without a weapon! Asyourfutureteammatethisisunacceptableand- w-well- we couldprobablymakeyouoneitcouldbefun-"

"I have a weapon." I cut in before the poor girl can spiral anymore. Her face is a beet red. "It's just... kind of dangerous."

"All weapons can be dangerous!" Ruby exclaims, she's indescribably awkward. It's... kind of sad actually, I don't remember her being this bad in the original series.

Then again, Silver eyes actually mean something to common men now. I had a few people gawk at me when I took off my sunglasses briefly when I walked around Vale with Miss Goodwitch.

She likely had even fewer true friends than she did in the original series. Maybe just people who want to make connections, or boys who want to add that specific trait to their bloodline.

I shake my head briefly. "No... I mean it might literally cut you in half if you draw it. When I first used it, it almost cut the combat arena in half and left this massive gash in the wall behind me."

"COOOOOOOL!" Her eyes practically sparkle.

I can see Summer- who is alive for some reason- gently smile in amusement in the background, covering her mouth with a hand.

"Can we- can we go see it?!" The silver eyed girl pleads, causing me to let out a small sigh, the corners of my lips turning upwards as my shoulders slump.

"Fine, fine... follow me. I've got a locker in my room."

“OOOH!" The girl's eyes sparkle. "Is it a gun? Is it magic? What kind of weapon is it? What can you do with it? Oh! Is a mechashift- oh... uh- can it transform into different forms? Oh! Is it some form of dust-alloy?"

White rose petals flutter around us as Summer seems to vanish.

We walk down the hallway, I slip on my sunglasses as the girl with red highlights seems to pause then pull her red hood up as high as it can go.

"To answer your questions." I begin after a moment, quickly speaking before she can go on another weapon tangent. "It can't transform, nor is it a gun, nor is magic- Ozpin checked- and it appears to be completely normal steel and it is a Katana."

"Oh... that is... hm..." The girl frowns. "Is... it just a placeholder? Uh... M-Mom said you lost your memories a-and don't have anywhere to go... are... are you going to make your true weapon later? Can- can I help?"

"Oh. No it's my true weapon. Remember when I said it almost cut the room in half."

"Wh- but- how does a nonmagical steel sword do that?!" The girl's eyes widen.

"It's uh... let's call it anomalous and has stumped even Ozpin?" I shrug.

Her eyes grow wide, a slightly dumb smirk forming on her lips. "It- it's... unique? A-a... method of strength that we haven't discovered yet?!"

"Preeeeetty much, yes." I nod once.

Her hands shake, it looks like she's barely restraining herself from jumping for joy.

I wave my scroll over my door's lock, causing it to click open and let the girl inside.

[Split]

Ruby Rose is having some... interesting thoughts at the moment as she follows behind the boy she had just met as he leads her through the school.

she gazes at the back of a boy, his silver eyes like pools of unbroken moonlight, his face, sculpted from ivory, his hair, silky and black as night.

She has been finding herself getting lost in his eyes. They're... they're unlike anything she has ever seen. Even from her mother or her cousins up in Atlas. There's just... something different about it.

Her mother said it was something called the 'Six eyes'? But that's ridiculous! He only has two eyes! Why would they say he had six?

Of course, his eyes did do that slightly creepy roll thing, but... uh... that kind of made her realize one thing.

He has multiple mystic eye powers.

That's like- CRAZY CRAZY!

People have been trying to find a way for mystic eyes to pass from parent to child consistently- with Atlas seeming to be the only kingdom having any real success in that, looking at the Schnees and their Silver Eyed Warriors- but for a silver eyed warrior to have... a secondary trait? Not only that, but supposedly a third, fourth, and fifth trait?! That's INSANE!

u-uh... she... hasn't exactly been around many boys in her life.

Her sister- half sister- is more beautiful than her... her sister has bigger boobs than her... but... she has silver eyes. Something that Yang doesn't.

There have been times where boys in her school... sought her out... asking Ruby herself to be their girlfriend... but...

They didn't love her.

They loved the idea of her.

People with genetic mystic eyes- such as silver eyed warriors- are treated with respect and reverence.

They are...

Privileged?

Privileged.

Ruby herself lives in a two-story suburban home with just her mom and sister. They have three bathrooms! THREE!

Most people only have one at most.

The thing with silver eyed warriors... is that their mere presence in a kingdom... is a boon. The kingdom pays them to be there.

Their power over grimm, even if it's only half of the threat humanity and faunus kind face, makes them incredibly valuable.

So...

You can see how someone might have wanted to... get with her in order to have an easy life.

Luckily, her mother thought ahead.

She taught her what to look for.

The sad part is...

She sees what she was told to look for in practically everyone around her.

Girls wanting handouts. Boys wanting to wed her...

Well, wed her eyes

It- She doesn't have a lot of friends.

The only person she can really... connect with... would be her sister, Yang.

But...

In front of her is a silver eyed warrior.

In front of her is someone who GETS IT!

Or they would...

Had they not lost their memories...

But-

For the first time in her life... she might be able to find someone...

Someone who loves her for her.

Not her silver eyes.

Not for her money- because realistically speaking Noctus is probably going to be even more loaded than her family- and not for any prestige.

He- He's perfect!

And he's... leading her to an empty classroom.

OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh!

Her face tinges red, as he shuts the door behind him.

'I-Is this really happening?' The silver eyed girl ponders.

That- that's fine... this is sooooo romantic! It's just like one of those books of Yang's that she wasn't supposed to read! Next he'll say something like. 'So here we are.'

"So here we are." He announces.

The red-haired girl tries not to squeal.

"Can you activate your aura really quick?"

'Huh? That's not in the script.' Ruby blinks twice, her fantasy cracking slightly.

"Oh- Um- Okay?"

"I just don't want to cut you with my weapon. I've got no idea how to control it?"

"O-Oh... okay?" Aura springs to life around Ruby, she watches Noctus nod once and turn, then he draws his weapon.

EEEEEEEEE-

A high-pitched eerie ringing sound echoes out in the classroom for but a moment before he puts his thumb on the back of the blade.

CRRRZ

A small crescent is carved into the tile floor of the arena.

"That..." Ruby whispers. "THAT IS SO COOL! How does it work?! What is it? Why is it black? That doesn't seem like it's actually steel! Is it really not magic?!"

Unknowing to the silver-eyed girl she is somewhat tapping into her semblance, making her words explode out in an avalanche of word-vomit.

But, thankfully, the person in front of her can speed up his perception.

"The ringing sound actually causes subtle vibrations in the objects nearby, weaking bonds between atoms of the nearby objects... kind of like a super-powered tuning fork. When the noise stops, this in turn violently stresses the object in question, which causes it to cut... I haven't exactly tested it, but I'd imagine things like cloth and other soft and malleable objects would be moderately harder to cut. But I can't even begin to figure out how to aim it yet." He speaks, voice melodious and calm, it causes the red-haired girl to tingle slightly, a shaky smile forming on her lips.

"As for why it's black? No clue. It just is. As for the material? Ozpin said that it was steel. I've got no real experience in blacksmithing or metalworking, so I'm inclined to believe him. And from what I can see. No magic at all. Just sound." He holds out the blade. "Here."

Her eyes widen at the blade, the pattern of the metal is absolutely dazzling. Damascus steel. But it's black and... kind of gold-ish?

She slowly takes his sword looking over it in reverence- wait! Th- that sounds dirty!

She shoves her muddled thoughts to the back of her mind, looking over the sword.

She gives it a single swing, eyes widening in appreciation.

She would never cheat on her darling Crescent Rose, but this is a really good sword. Well balanced. Light.

She points it down, dragging the tip across the stone- HOLY CRAP IT JUST CUT THROUGH THE ROCK LIKE BUTTER!

"This is awesome!" She whispers.

The weight of this blade isn't that ideal for her, she's used to flinging around a massive sniper-scythe that weighs a good two hundred pounds. This one weighs like... one? Like, a singular pound. You'd think that it wouldn't be that good of a weapon at that weight, perhaps you might think of it as fragile... but she can tell. This won't break easily. A sense she's honed after hours in the forge making the perfect blade for her Crescent Rose.

Looking over the wooden handle and its lack of tsuba, the girl nods once, a smile on her lips. She hands it back to Noctus who re-sheaths it with a low click.

"So..." He continues. "What about your weapon?"

"O-OH! I... I didn't bring it today- maybe I should have? U-uh- it's a high-impact Mecha shifting fifty-caliber sniper rifle scythe which I have had enchanted to my specifications and have had numerous modifications done to."

"..."

"huh." The boy mutters.

"O-Oh! Right... Mecha-shifting is a method of weapon transformation through the power of pistons, gears, and other mechanical parts!"

"Oh, I see." He nods slowly. "Anyways... uh... your mom kind of just left you here..."

"I-I guess?"

"Want to go hang out in my room? There's not much for us to do out here. Maybe we could find a movie or something?" He suggests, causing the girl's heart to skip a beat.

H-he wants to invite her back to his room?!

"O-Okay!"

[Split]

Pov: Elsewhere

Well.

That was easy.

Neo 'Cosmo' Politan is many things.

A Crook, A sociopath with a long history of violence, very smug, and the current recordholder for Delish Shake Chaperone's 'Cuppa-cream' challenge where she managed to eat almost four gallons of ice cream in a single sitting.

But above all of that...

She is sneaky.

A benefit of her semblance and one of her mystic eyes being synergistic with it.

She can enter places she isn't supposed to without anyone being the wiser.

Such as... for instance...

Government buildings housing the records of those in the kingdom with mystic eyes.

Just a hop-skip-and a jump over to the 'Genetic' mystic eyes section, then she got her prize.

Noctus Argentus. Seventeen years old. Going to beacon as a first year next year.

A bit young for Beacon, perhaps, but judging by the strange plus mark they had by his 'Silver Eye's... she thinks that the school maaaay be giving him a little favoritism.

She's figured out quite a lot about her crush.

Firstly... wear an eyepatch.

She went out to kill some dude and she nearly got hit once because the world started looking out of sync. Turns out silver eyes grant enhanced perception. Who knew.

Helpful when they're both silver, probably a bit of a hinderance when she only has one.

Oh well. Anyways, she now knows WHO she likes and where he is.

The question is... how exactly does she get to him?

She taps her chin, tilting her head.

Breaking into beacon is... dangerous.

That's like... MULTIPLE felonies.

Not that she hasn't done the classic, 'slide a knife in between the ribs and push them into the ocean' shuffle.

It's just.

Breaking into a school where EVERYONE is being taught how to fight and kill? Maaaayhaps not a good idea.

But she's done crazier! And this is for LOVE!

Now how does she-

"So. This is where you were."

The girl freezes, eyes wide as dinner plates.

She shakily turns her head to the man now standing behind her.

He has white hair, spectacles, and wields a cane, wearing a green scarf, and black suit.

That is-

t-the headmaster of Beacon.

W-Why is he here?!

Her eyes might be super strong, but...

She...

Doesn't think she can take someone like this.

"Might I ask why you seem so interested in my student? Have you perhaps not seen any other silver-eyed warriors before?"

The girl freezes.

He knows.

He knows she was looking into little Nocti.

How much does he know?

HOW does he know?

"I cast a few subtle alarm spells on his personal records in hope that I could... intervene... if anyone tried anything untoward." The man supplies. "I certainly never expected to find you with them... although I was searching for you."

Neo's eyes narrow slightly, hands clenching slightly.

"I actually have an offer for you." The man begins. "How would you like to enroll at beacon next year? Being placed on a certain team."

Neo pauses, blinking owlishly.

She does a few signs that causes the man's eyes to widen minutely.

"Why would I do that if I don't know your intentions?" He questions. "Because I saw how you were looking at him. It's quite easy to guess your intentions off that. Perhaps licking his picture... might have been bit far, though."

Neo's lips form a flat line, her cheeks deepening in color slightly.

"However. I respect your conviction." Ozpin nods. "I am looking for teammates for Noctus, I have found two already and now I am merely looking for the third and final person."

The man turns away and begins walking. "Give it some thought."

With a crackle he teleports.

A frown appears on Neo's lips.

That's her gimmick. In fact, she had already swapped with one of her clones while the man was speaking.

The Neo outside shatters like glass, leaving her to her thoughts within one of her uncle's safehouses.

she flops onto the couch, knees coming up to her chest, eyes narrowing slightly.

does... she want to deal with a bunch of stupid college students? She doesn't have the best experience with schools. The last time she went to one it turned out that it was secretly training international criminal super spies-slash-assassins and had hidden cameras in the lapel pins.

Said skills were quite helpful in breaking into the Valean municipal office to snap a pic of her new obsession's personal information.

Wow...

Her life is weird

Wait.

Beacon's rooms are...

Co-ed...

A bright smile appears on her face, a silent cackle echoing- not really- throughout the safehouse.

Being mute really does put a hamper on evil laughs.

[Split]

I sit on the couch, fingers dancing around my phone- sorry, scroll as two figures on the large screen in front of us bounce around.

"No!" Ruby exclaims. "You- Stop button mashing!"

"I learn from the master." I shoot back.

"Wh- NO! I do combos!"

"Yeah. This attack into the same attack into the same attack." I begin.

We got to my room and started playing a game that Ruby had.

Turns out the scrolls are... quite a bit more powerful than standard phones.

I'd more compare them to nintendo switches. Kind of impressive, but I suppose this world does have mechas and robot girls.

Huh. Kind of forgot about Penny. I wonder if Atlas is going to send her down here and have her be the 'sperm extractor nine-thousand'. 'Salutations! I'm here for your cum' and all that.

Man. That'd be funny.

But I also kind of don't want to lose my virginity to a robot. That sounds a little sad.

"So. Ruby. What's your life like?" I question suddenly.

"H-Huh?" She blinks.

"Like... what's your experience as a Silver-Eyed person. I don't really... know what it's like. No memories and all."

"Oh..." The girl whispers. "U-Uh... people... try to... uhm..."

"Get into... your pants... a lot?" She squeaks out after a moment of deliberation.

"Sweet." I snort, causing the redhead to sputter.

"Anything else... that doesn't involve people wanting to continue the silver-eyed bloodline?" Her face is a deep red.

"W-Well... people just... just look at your differently. There's this like... worship?? No... that's too much... but-"

"Reverence?"

"Yeah! That!" The girl points.

I turn, crossing my legs as I sit on the couch, facing the girl as I sit my scroll aside.

"We also... are... kind of privileged?" The girl eventually admits.

"Yeah... Ozpin seemed really quite keen on keeping me here. Like... he... in not so uncertain terms suggested that I... ah..." I rotate my wrist, trying to find a way to put this but eventually just decide 'fuck it' and say it point blank. "Breed my entire school year."

"Eep-" the girl flinches, her face reddening more. Somehow

"So. That's going to be my life, I guess."

"I-I... understand that." The girl nods slowly. "My... My uncle up in Atlas... he is... similar. I have a bunch of cousins."

She shifts slightly, glancing away from me.

"Haah. It's going to be worse for me because of my hundreds of Mystic Eyes."

"HUNDREDS?!" The girl rockets to her feet, eyes wide.

"Yeeeah?" I blink

"How?! I thought you just had like... a few!"

"I was just born this way." I shrug. "I don't really know 'how' or 'why'. Maybe it's the reason why I have so few memories... my eyes bled pretty badly for a while there... mainly because I used some of the abilities that I'm not really... used to? Mainly the 'see infinite distance and teleport anywhere' eyes."

"The... The what?" The girl whispers.

"Pshhh. Don't worry about that!" I wave off. "So what's your family like. Your mom seems nice."

"Oh! I have a sister! But- like- half sister. She doesn't have silver eyes like me..."

"Oh that cool. What's she like?"

"She's SO cool! She has a motorcycle, she's tall, with long luscious blonde hair, she wields a pair of shotgun gauntlets and she's the top of her class! In fact, she's coming to Beacon next year!"

"So, you'll be in the same class, huh?" I hum.

"YEAH!" The girl grins brightly. "Oh she's so so so cool! I can't wait to be classmates with her! She's so kind and funny. She's like... the one person in the world that I can trust to have my back!"

"And mom makes the BEST cookies! I- I'll get her to make some one day so you can try them! They're chocolate chip and ooey gooey and just-" the girl sways back and forth, eyes hazing over slightly as she has a goofy smile.

She flinches, seemingly remembering that I'm here. "A-Anyways. They're really good cookies. The best, even."

"Sure. That sounds great... one day..."

We fall into a brief silence, the sounds of 'Huuuagh! Hup! Hyaaa! Counter!' Echoing from the Tv from our truly masterful clashes.

"So. Who do you think's going to be on our team for Beacon next year?" I ponder.

"Um... I don't know." The girl with red-tipped hair responds. "We're... going to do that 'recommended team' thing, right? Where they try and craft like... the perfect team?'

"Yeah, I'm suuuure that's what Ozpin is thinking." I deadpan.

"Huh?" The girl blinks, tilting her head. "Is it not?"

"I know for a fact that the team aside from me is going to be all girls."

"How do you know that?" She questions.

I turn, giving her a half-lidded stare, allowing her to sit in silence.

"Oh? OH! Y-You can't possibly m-mean-" she sputters, seeming to connect the dots.

"To quote Ozpin literally seconds after figuring out that my eyes are a little more special than a normal silver eyed warrior? 'With so many hormonal teenagers in private co-ed rooms... well... it's no wonder the student body has its fair share of... accidents... in the heat of passion... and while chastised, there's no true punishment to these actions.'."

"E-Eep!" She squeaks.

"So... sorry to burst your bubble. Your Beacon experience is probably going to be some weird social experiment with Ozpin seeing how much he can try and influence the sex lives of his students before he gets hauled off to jail for being really creepy." I roll my eyes.

Her face is a deep red, eyes darting around the room.

"T-That- U-uhm..." Steam practically puffs from her ears from how embarrassed she looks right now.

I really wonder what she's thinking about...

Mystic Eyes of Mindsight Loaded

Huh?

"Oh Ruby, your eyes are so beautiful."

I can see... myself pinning the girl to the wall.

Ah yes... Kabedon.

"Could it be that we are meant to be?"

I tilt her chin up, a small smirk working its way onto the lips of my fantasized counterpart, our faces inches apart.

I reach down and with a single movement, I tear open the girl's shirt.

"W-We shouldn't!" She protests. "This... is wrong we just met today!"

"If it's wrong, why does it feel so... right?" The fictional version of me whispers in her ear. "Ozpin told me to ensure the next generation has a chance to survive. Would you raise those heroes of the next generation with me?"

I can see her visibly shudder in the real world, eyes slightly glazed over.

My vision blurs slightly as my mystic eyes cut off.

Aww- what? It was just getting good!

I shake my head, eyes turning back to the Tv. Ignoring the girl who's locked within a fantasy of her own making.

Kind of flattering that she's thinking about me in that way, I suppose.

I'm going to have so much fun teasing her.

As for who else will be on the team...

Ozpin mentioned the Schnees and their mystic eyes. It's probably going to be Weiss.

As for person four?

Penny perhaps? The 'professional semen extractor'?

That'd kind of suck, actually... If I'm going to have a bunch of kids, I might as well have the fun of making them.

Knock Knock Knock

Ruby snaps out of her daze, we both glance towards the door.

My eyes throb briefly, the door peeling away.

"It's your mom." I observe.

Ruby hops to her feet, zooming over to the door and opening it.

"Hello!" The woman smiles. "Sorry to interrupt your little date."

"D-DATE?!" Ruby squeals causing me to let out a small amused huff.

"You two are using protection, aren't you?"

"N-NO!" Ruby gasps.

"I'm going to be a grandmother!" Summer beams.

"N-NOOOOO! MOOOOOOM Y-You're embarrassing me!"

"You're fun." I smirk. "I like you."

"Anyways, Rubes, it's time to go." The woman states. "It's almost last call to Patch."

"A-Awwww." The mirror image of the older woman seems to sigh.

"She could stay here for the night." I shrug. "But be aware I've only got a single bed so we'd be forced to share."

Ruby sputters, a glint appearing in Summer's eye.

"Oh... I don't know..." She tilts her head cutely, seemingly pondering for a long moment. "Do you have room for one more? It would be Ruby's first sleepover and I want to make sure she doesn't get homesick."

"M-MOOOOOOOM!" The younger silver eyed girl cries.
