"Can Deliora count retroactively?"

"Did you say something?" Natsuki looks up from the stove.

"Oh. Sorry, I'm haggling with random omnipotent beings." I explain before looking back to the screen.

"So... can Deliora count?"

No.

"Shit." I curse with a small sigh, shoulders slumping slightly. "Ah well... Natsuki, I'm going out. Mr. Rob gave me a mission to do a bunch of S-Class quests. I'll be back."

With that, I rise to my feet, offer a wave, then make my way out the door.

I make it to the guild with good time, quietly making my way up the stairs to the second floor.

I look over the S-Class Job board, crossing my arms. 'allllllrighty... what do we have here?'

Some of these require me to leave Fiore...

Let's see... dark guild suppression. A sea monster's causing trouble in one of Fiore's trade routes- that one requires me to ride a boat for a month or so... hard pass.

H-Hydra?

They have hydras here?

Those are kind of draconic...

I'll put a pin in that.

Next would be a mission to clear out a mine that had accidentally mined into a Manarachnid nest.

I assume those are giant spiders. Mana Arachnids. Giant Magical Spiders, then.

The board is kind of barren, actually.

There's a mission to defeat a tribe of cyclops which have been raiding nearby villages. Their leader apparently being a powerful mage.

There's some more dark guild subjugation... oh? A mission to capture an assassin... that seems... egh... messing with assassins is annoying as they'll go for your friends and family.

Chimera?

That sounds quite interesting as well.

I eventually decide to grab one of the 'take on an entire dark guild' quests, choosing the closer one. By that, I mean the one that's actually in Fiore and not the neighboring country.

Dark Guild Suppression:
The dark guild 'True Yeti' attacked the Ambassador of Seven on their way back to their country. As a result tensions have risen between Fiore and Seven. This cannot stand, I Toma E. Fiore, have ordered this guild be destroyed post-haste with preference that the guild wizards be captured alive in order to potentially re-extend diplomatic negotiations to the land of Sevens.

Reward: 12,000,000 Jewel

There's a large red 'S' stamped in the corner.

Quite the impressive reward, not going to lie. Most S-Class seem to range anywhere from two to eight million. But this is a request from Fiore's royal family, after all.

I can see the Phantom Lord symbol towards the bottom... I wonder what that's about.

I turn, walking to the balcony.

I hop over the edge, ethernano clinging to my body through the use of thaumaturgy. I slow my descent, falling to the first floor with a gentle thud.

"Boss." I call out as I step over to the old man sitting on the bar, drinking.

"Hmmm? Oh. Andrew. You're here today... and doing a mission. Good for you."

"You alright if I take this one?" I offer the job to him.

"True Yeti, huh? Yeah... this mission... Jose's been bragging about having his S-Class on this one... but he hasn't made any real progress. The guild seems to realize they really messed up and are hunkering down until it all blows over. They've got a head start."

"But they don't have divination..." I point out causing the man to blink twice and let out a huff. "heh- yeah. I suppose you're right about that."

With a flash, some papers appear in his hand as he hands them to me. He stamps the job with a magical stamp, causing our guild symbol to appear at the bottom. "If you can pull it off. This'll REALLY give me something to taunt Jose about at our next guild master meeting. This here is a list of some of the guild's stronger mages. You're expected to at the very least take down these eleven, guild master included. That should deal enough damage that the guild goes under."

I take the stack of papers and begin to look through it.

"They're all... ice-adjacent wizards?" I ask slowly.

"Yes. Supposedly their guild hall's up in the mountains at the Sevens border, but it's never been located. Probably in some icy cave." The man supplies, taking a drink from his mug.

"So... the guild master has takeover Ice soul... how does that like- work? I mean, I have takeover magic, but it's like... a species. How does one quantify 'ice'?"

"Anything that makes use of cold or ice." The man notes. "Takeover's pretty versatile. The best users can even combine forms... that's what Wolfheim does. Takes the best trait out of each of his takeovers and combines them into one superior form. Making use of an element like this is... an interesting method to be sure. Most people choose to specify a type for their magic, such as beast, animal, or maybe something even more specific such as 'canine' or 'snake'. Very few choose an element."

"Why do people choose to specify so much?" I ask. "I... assume it's because specifying something like that makes the takeover more powerful... or maybe easier to take-over something?"

"It makes the bindings that a takeover wizard creates on the creatures they capture more secure."

"Hm. Would an elemental focus be stronger than a species pick?" I question.

"Like most things in Takeover it depends on the things taken over." The man supplies. "However... to be the guild master of a guild like True Yeti would probably make him about on par with your typical S-Class wizard. Maybe stronger. so be careful."

"Oh, I was talking about the restraining effects of the takeover there, not the power of the mage." I shake my head.

"Hm..." He hums after a moment. "It's probably a bit better than a mage specifying 'beast' or 'demon'. But not that much better. Maybe... five to ten percent at most?"

I let out a low hum and nod slowly. "I see... I see..."

"Anyways, don't worry master. I typically don't do things unless I'm certain I can win." I offer him a thin smile.

[Split]

I hover in the clouds, my body absolutely freezing... or it would be if I didn't enchant these clothes to be extra warm. My eyes narrow minutely as I gaze down towards a small hole in the mountain face.

It's completely invisible from any angle except from a quite sharp angle towards the mountain itself. The cave entrance seems to curl around like a spiral staircase as it heads into the mountain proper.

The actual exit seems to have been built up with ice magic to make it harder to see unless you knew it was there.

I can see how these guys weren't found yet.

Let's do a quick run though their magics.

Guild Leader. Ice Takeover. Vice Guild Leader. Frostfire. Notable members. Ice Magic. Snow Magic. Frost Whip Magic. Ice Sword and Armor Magic- the 'holder' kind. Ice Water Magic. Frostbite Magic, Shiver Magic, Blue Light Magic, and finally Ring Magic.

I slap a talismin on my chest, the colors of my black and orange clothes muting slightly.

I fall from the sky, wings flapping twice as I reach the bottom. My shoes make contact with the snow, barely even creating a crunch.

I pull my hood up slightly, the holes in the back of my hoodie sealing up as my wings slowly retract- that enchantment was a bit of a pain... but helpful so I could keep my shirt on- thus keep the enchantments- when I used my Takeover instead of just absorbing it and putting it into stasis like most takeovers would.

A long thin tail slowly sprouts from my lower back, a stinger appearing on the end.

I walk forwards, eyes adapted to the darkness. Devil Physiology has its benefits, that's to be certain.

With a flash, several talismans appear in my hand as I look over them. I nod slowly, eyes flicking back up to the tunnel as I continue to walk.

I had taken two extra days to create some extra talismans.

As I strain my ears I can hear quiet murmuring.

"And he said 'bitch, I'm not here for your ass, I'm here for your booty'." A voice jokes and I can hear a second let out a small laugh.

The first continues. "I know right? The balls of that pirate! Looking down three mages and still has the courage to act all high and mighty."

I can see flickering lantern-light. My eyes narrow as I take one final step forwards and pause, body tensing.

"Thhhheeeeeeeennnnnn IIIIIIIII sssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiidddddd."

The world slows.

An item I bought from a magic shop appears in my hand next.

Throwing needles. Meant to be a much better non-lethal method to take someone down. They're thin, much like a sewing needle but longer. Enchanted to have a little more density to them for better throwing.

Ordinarily these might be kind of a bad purchase... but they're more meant for applying poison.

I blur forwards, turn- as the tunnel takes an abrupt right angle, then lunge into the new room.

A stinger-tipped tail lashes out, slashing across the cheek of one of two men sitting at a table drinking beer. A needle snaps the second guy's head back as It catches him in the cheek.

I rush to the other side of the room, tail stabbing out.

The guild master is barely turning his head as my tail jabs him in the shoulder. A paper seal slapped into his chest with enough force that he is thrown backwards and slams into the wall.

I swing my other hand downwards, needle in a reverse grip as I stab the vice- guild leader in the back of the hand.

I dance around the icy cavern, jumping to and from at rapid speeds.

After each of the eighteen wizards have been given a dose of speed stinger venom I quickly rush around again, placing a seal on their chest, then one on their foreheads which causes their eyes to roll back in their heads.

"..."

I look to the pile of wizards, bodies stiff and rigid. Like rigor mortis.

A low breath leaves my lips as I walk around, requipping the rings off the fingers of one man, stealing a man's armor and leaving him in his underwear, grabbing the sword that he had sat nearby.

I scour the place, picking up whatever I could.

I found a nice little nest-egg. Seven million jewel, then there's the 'crap' items, such as magic staves that some of the 'less important' wizards used.

Now I just need to go and grab those two hunting in the mountains and I'll be good to turn in this quest.

[Split]

I walk through a large bustling town, people staring, pointing, and gawking at me as... I drag a large carpet with dozens of unconscious, tied up, and stiffened people on it.

Two guards freeze at my approach, they point their spears at me. "Stop right there! State your business!"

"I'm a wizard of Fairy Tail." I announce as with a flash, I summon the job I had taken. "I have just completed the S-Class mission issued by his majesty. Behind me are the wizards from the Dark Guild True Yeti. All twenty of them that were free."

The two look between each other, the one on the left, looks to the side, where a third guard is standing.

He jerks his head to the side, causing the other guard to quickly disappear into the building.

"One moment. We need to confirm you are who you say you are. Where is your guild mark?"

I blink twice and slowly roll back my sleeve. "Here."

Upon seeing the black mark, they visibly relax, the spears that were pointed at me quickly raising back to the sky. "Yes. Alright. You're from the fairy tail guild. Please wait for a moment more. I've sent for our minister. He'll have your reward."

I cross my arms, looking around my prisoners.

The seals on the guild leader are smoking slightly, causing me to step forwards and quickly stick two more on him.

Seal magic's lifespan is... interesting.

Magic constantly courses through the seal after it is applied causing it to heat up quickly. The more magic channeled through it, the hotter it gets faster.

I've gone through pretty much all of the seals I've made keeping these guys unconscious and without magic. Saving the remaining ones I have for the guild master and vice guild master specifically.

I watch a troupe of guards march through the doors between the two men standing guard, an older man is at the front, walking slowly as he looks over the unconscious wizards, eyes widening slightly.

He stops across from me. "Hello. I am Darton. The minister of defense. I've been told that you have captured True Yeti?"

"I have." I offer a single nod as the man peers around me.

He's quite short, with greying hairs, pronounced ears, T-shaped eyebrows and a small scar over his nose.

He steps forwards, looking over the guildmaster I had just sedated.

"This is- it's really him! Vethender!" He turns to the guards he brought with him, they each have large, blocky restraining cuffs. "Cuff these wizards at once."

He turns back to me, offering me a nod. "Thank you for your work, please come with me and I'll fetch you your reward for a job well done. I do have a question, however... what are these seals? Will removing them cause issues?"

"No. The ones on the chest seal magic, the ones on the forehead seal their consciousness temporarily rendering them unconscious. I just reapplied some to the guild master but the others should be burning up and losing effectiveness sometime soon."

"I see..." He turns to his men. "You heard him. Get those magic sealing restraints on them post-haste and drag them to the dungeon!"

I follow after the short man as he leads me into the castle. "I have to thank you for your expeditious completion of this job. When I got word that Fairy Tail had accepted this job, I didn't know what to think. Phantom Lord had been searching for a month already and while they did capture a few True Yeti wizards, the majority of the guild simply went to ground."

"They were hidden in the mountains. The entrance to their hideout was extremely well hidden. I got lucky more than anything that I saw some of their wizards out hunting and followed them from afar." I supply. "I don't blame Phantom Lord for missing them. The same might have happened to me."

"Hm. Humble." The man notes. "Regardless. It appears there is some disparity between your skill... The Phantom Lord wizard wasn't able to capture every mage they found alive. Especially the guild master, his second in command, and the others."

"Well... Fairy Tail is the number one guild for a reason." I nod slowly. "But in this case, I had all the tools I needed to complete this job pre-made and ready. I only needed a day or so to create some extra talismans."

He takes me to his office. At which point I am given my money and quietly leave with a final farewell from the Minister and a promise that he may request me by name in the future.

[Split]

"-Annnnd that's about it."

"Heh." Makarov huffs into his mug. "Jose's going to be so mad. He sent his wizard on a wild goose chase for a month and you turn around and capture the entire guild in just three days. Two of those being days which you didn't even leave Magnolia!"

"Good work, Andy." He reaches over and pats my shoulder. "And good job getting out of your house. You really need it."

"I like my house." I frown. "It's peaceful there."

"Bah! If you wanted peace and quiet, you joined the wrong guild, my boy! Because Fairy Tail's NUMBER ONE!" He raises a finger to the sky, the guild cheers wildly at that statement of being 'number one'.

I find a weak smile forming on my lips as I turn and begin to walk away. "I'll probably come back for another S-Class mission soon."

"I'll be waiting." The old man waves.

I swiftly make it back home, opening the door with a low creak.

"I'm back." I call out into the room. Natsuki perks up, looking over, eyes slightly widening.

"Already?! Rias said you spent months preparing for that big demon quest. She would have thought this one would have taken you at least a week to track everything down!"

"To be fair... with divination finding things becomes a lot simpler. Reasonably day one and two were merely to find my targets and ensure they weren't moving along with some more preparation. Divination may be a complete magic hog, but I'm able to recharge easily thanks to my Skrill form and electric ofuda."

I walk over, taking a seat at the kitchen table, a sigh leaving my lips as I prop my head up. "Well. One S-Class down... four to go."

I look around the house. "So. Rias and the rest gone on a mission as well?"

"Mhm." Natsuki nods once. "It's just us for now..."

A low hum leaves my lips as I make note of that. "Well. I'm getting a shower, then."

"Okay." The girl nods as I rise to my feet and wander off deeper into my home.

[Split]

I step out of the shower, the moisture in my hair and on my body slowly finding its into a large floating orb of water above me.

After being suitably dried I lazily flick my hand, sending the water splashing into the tub.

I adjust my simple grey shirt and black shorts, walking back towards the kitchen where Natsuki stands over the stove.

"So. How the magic coming along?"

"I've almost figured out the filling enchantment!" The girl flashes me a grin. "With it, portion sizes should never be an issue!"

"The smaller portion sizes require you to spend more magic, right?"

"Mhmm." She nods causing me to hum in acknowledgement.

"Thought so." I comment letting out a small sigh of bliss. "Magic is so cool."

"It is!" The girl cheers.

It's been about five months since she started living with us. Five months since I became an S-Class.

About four months since she got used to our weirdness.

By this point she barely blinks as Rias wanders around in the nude, Valerie walking around COVERED in blood- she's kind of clumsy and keeps accidentally spilling the buckets she drinks from.

Virgo seems to like having something to do.

Natsuki has even gotten used to her food just flat out... vanishing...  watching as Koneko put an entire T-Bone steak in her mouth and after a minute or so just pulling out a completely polished bone.

I saw Koneko tie a cherry stem into a knot with her tongue once... that was... interesting.

Even more so when she sat on my lap afterwards because Rias was sitting in the spot she normally sits.

Actually thinking back on it... she was quite... ah... forward... that month. Walking in on me showering twice and offering to wash my back, sitting on my lap, she even licked me once.

"..."

"Oh!" I gasp.

"Hm?" The pink haired girl hums, barely looking up from her poaching eggs.

"I just realized that Koneko was in heat last month."

"That's a little..." Natsuki weakly begins. "I get that she has cat ears and a cat tail, but that's not nice... I'll tell her you said that."

"No, I'm not being racist she was originally a youkai. A Nekoshou to be specific which are basically the Kyuubi of cat youkai. I heard Rias say that the animal-featured youkai girls ACTUALLY have like a mating season." I defend, causing the pink haired girl to look at me and slowly blink.

She tilts her head, seemingly thinking back over the past month.

"She... was very cuddly last month..." She whispers after a long moment. "What do you think that's like? Going into heat?"

I gaze down at the table for a long moment, scratching my chin in thought. "Hm... well... have you ever had like an intense indescribable urge to masturbate?"

"W-What?" Natsuki's face turns cherry red.

We're both silent for a long moment before she eventually squeaks out another reply. "M-Maybe?"

"Probably something similar to that but like... at all times."

"O-Oh... that probably... sucks pretty badly, then..." She whispers, squirming under my gaze slightly.

"Oh undoubtedly." I agree.

"..."

"..."

"S-So... uh... d-do you-" Natsuki begins. "Do... t-that?"

"Masturbate? Nah. Not since I reincarnated. Been a little over... maybe two years at this point and I'd like to keep it that way? My family has... let's call it a bad history with addiction. Most of my family smoked, I had a brother who gambled excessively and did drugs. My father drank- well, he used to. Now his main issue would be the smoking. And my mother... well... she used to smoke and drink but she more became addicted to... conspiracy... 'five g radiation. the world is flat. Anti-vax. The government controls the weather'. That sort of thing."

"Of course, I was no exception to my family's curse of addiction. Porn mostly." I shrug "I'm doing fine nowadays, though. At first it was the magic, now it's sharing a home with four super attractive girls who have enhanced devil senses."

"Y-You're so open about that..." Natsuki whispers.

"Well, I am a devil now." I shrug idly. "From what I've heard from Rias they're... kind of 'eccentric'... like... blacksmiths next to elementary schools, cafes that are also strip clubs, gladiatorial fights for money, land, and prestige."

"I mean, YOU'VE seen Rias wandering around without clothes. Why should I really care when they don't seem care?" I shrug. "Anyways. I think your poached egg is becoming less poached more boiled all the way through."

The girl snaps to attention, looking over the stove and quickly scooping out the floating egg white.

She looks over it, quickly dropping it into an ice bath for a few seconds before taking it back out.

She carefully places it on a nearby plate and cuts it in half.

The egg yolk is kind of moist-looking but overall has solidified.

"Damn!" The girl curses. "Oh well. Let's see..."

She quickly eats the whole thing, blinking twice. "Huh... it worked... that filled me up completely."

"You think about joining Fairy Tail?" I ask suddenly, causing her to look over and tilt her head.

"Uh... you know, I might... I've got magic now... and I'm actually pretty decent at magic now." She thinks on it a moment longer. "Yeah! I'll join so I can meet more people!"

"Kind of hypocritical for me to say this, but... took you long enough." I huff, causing the girl to glare at me with a pout, which only causes my smile to grow.

Comments

I feel like this OC is just Lloyd from Reincarnated as the 7th Prince if he had genuinely zero interest in going outside. That is to say, I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH!

FreakShowMilotic

I love the MC of this story. The rise of a super-introvert, studying the depths of magic and completing S-Class Missions, only to go home first thing like a proper shut-in to recharge his exhausted social batteries lol. The fact that he's in Fairy Tail of all guilds (known for its exuberance and partying) like you pointed out makes it even funnier. Also I love that we're dipping into the romance/sexy-times at least a little. I can tell it's taking things slow and for very good reason but it'd be great to see more bonding time with the girls (it was especially great to see more of Koneko this chapter, even if only referenced. As great as it is to see him with Rias or Natsuki, it'd be wonderful to see him bond more with Koneko and Valerie)

D

The natsuki fluff is nice, looking forward to the next chap

andrew rousseau

Nice chapter, be interesting to see if Natsuki ends up taking over the kitchens in Fairy Tail 😀 All praise be to the Cook Mage

Orchamus

I’d say more than just kind of hypocritical
