Dev Log #3
Added 2023-12-24 01:53:26 +0000 UTCHello there!
I’ve been enjoying these dev logs, good way for me to track what I’ve gotten done during the week, so I plan to continue them for now, even if people stop reading them. :P
The first, and most requested, piece of information: “Release Date?” We were originally planning to release the update a few days ago, but my work changed our schedules at the last minute and decided no one gets days off until the holiday is over. (I cry) So that quickly put a stop to us releasing before Christmas. The good news is, in the bit of free time I have, we’ve nearly finished creating/testing Lucas’ final big quest!
I have played through all the new Lucas Content, without cheats, for the first time to get a feel for the progression of it all, and I really enjoyed myself! Outside of a few new bugs discovered, all that is left is proof-reading/testing of the rest of the final quest, which has about 25 different pieces. It is a BIG event on the same level as Noah’s “Stormy Night” Quest, if not bigger. Though I don’t want to spoil too much of this big quest, I will reveal the name of the quest: “The Punishment Game”.
Since I can’t talk about anything else worked on this week without spoiling the quest, I thought I’d reveal another little idea I have. Going into the new year, we are trying to get things much more structured game dev wise. Last year, we moved to VSC, started the Discord, and really increased the amount of volunteers helping us. This has greatly increased the amount of progress I can get done per update. My goal for this next year is to keep it up, while also further improving the collaborative space of LaaB along with communication for the supporters here on Fanbox.
So, along with these little Dev Logs, I want to start posting a sort of “Road Map” every few months. Now, this road map will not be an exact list of what’ll be added in exact timeframes, that doesn’t really work for a game like this, but rather a list of planned updates/features that are currently on our list and subject to change. This will be used to give supporters an idea of what major things are being worked on and what order they can expect them out. But I’ll explain more when we release our first one at the end of the month.
That’s it for this Dev Log! If all goes to plan, the next Dev Log will be after the update’s release! So stay tuned!
