Dev Log #1

Hello there!


I dislike the long periods of silence on the fanbox while we are working on stuff that we can’t show off very well. So, I’ve decided to do these text-only updates on what we’ve done recently to keep supporters in the know. I occasionally share stuff on the Discord, but understand that not everyone is a part of there. So, we are going to play around with these. (Visuals/Event Previews will still be posted as they are finished as well.)


Firstly, as many of you saw in the beta, we have been working on the system of hanging out at NPC homes. I wanted it to be more than just a random event and hoped to give the PC some control over what they do and allow them to explore the homes. As shown in the beta, you can wander around, do different interactions, and must care for your own, along with your friend’s, needs. I really liked how the system turned out and we have some fun plans for expanding it in the future.


The NPC needs/modifiers was a neat idea that gives us some fun options for the future. While we have no exact plan on when/if these will be added, these are some ideas we have written down: The ability to play around nude/in underwear in NPC homes, the ability to bring Noah to NPC homes, and the ability to ‘Gift’ NPCs things to unlock new interactions. Again, no idea when/if on these and I won’t go into too much detail, as I want these Dev Logs to talk about what we ‘have done’ rather than what we ‘will do’.


Two other things being added, thanks to Pony and Beat, are changes to the Time Management and Sleep Systems. Previously, things really only advanced time-wise by the hour and sleeping was a bit weird, choosing exactly how long to sleep. Now, we can track minutes a lot easier and allow for better control over sleeping. We have implemented an Alarm you can set, and have ideas on buyable alarm upgrades, but more on that when it is added in a later update.


Something being worked on right now is allowing for more gradual need decay. That means, instead of needs decaying every hour, they will decay slowly over minutes. The decay rate will be the same, but you’ll be able to see it over minutes rather than over hours, making things much easier to manage.


Currently, I am working on the final Supporter Requests and Lucas Quests. We have revamped how Quests are tracked, but I will speak on that in the next Dev Log as they are closer to finishing. Also keep an eye out for some fun previews we have planned to come out soon!
